Greaves, Ogbene, Tuanzebe: Ipswich Town injury latest and return dates ahead of Spurs clash
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
It has been a challenging return to the Premier League for Ipswich Town and their attempts to prolong their stay in the top tier have not been helped by the absence of a number of key players.
Being handed a home game against a Liverpool side under the management of new head coach Arne Slot for the first time was never going to represent a straightforward return to English football’s elite - and the 2-0 defeat has set the tone for what has followed for Kieran McKenna and his players. Although there have been some promising performances against the likes of Aston Villa and Fulham, the Tractor Boys will head into next weekend’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur sat in the Premier League relegation zone and without a win in their first ten games of the season.

Hide AdWith five draws and five defeats, Ipswich are sat two points from safety and there are some potentially pivotal fixtures lying in wait ahead of the crucial festive period with games against the likes of Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Wolves all set to take place over the next six weeks. There is a need for some positivity and that could arrive in the form of the return of some key players from injury - but who is sat on the sidelines and when could they return to contention?
Chiedozie Ogbene
The former Luton Town man was one of the Tractor Boys main summer signings as they prepared for life back in the Premier League. However, Ogbene has already been ruled out for the season after undergoing surgery on an Achilles tear. After undergoing surgery last week, Ogbene is now said to be focusing on getting back in contention for the start of next season Expected return date: Summer 2025.
Jack Taylor
The once-capped Republic of Ireland has not appeared since suffering a hamstring injury in training last month. McKenna has already claimed the midfielder will be ‘out until at least the international break’ Expected return date: Late November.
Jacob Greaves
The former Hull City defender is another summer signing that is current sat on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury following last month’s 4-1 defeat at West Ham United. At the time, it was confirmed Greaves would be out of action ‘for a few weeks’ and it now seems likely he will not return to action until after this month’s international break Expected return date: Late November.

The former Manchester United defender has not featured for the Tractor Boys since a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on the final weekend of September after picking up a hand injury. Speaking last month, McKenna said: “The time frame for Axel is still rough, to be honest. He won’t be back before the next international break. We’re still looking at what type of cast can be fitted and when it would be suitable. It won’t be before Tottenham.” Expected return date: Late November.
