Reds considering smashing the ceiling again!

The ceiling placed above Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was obviously put up by cowboy builders.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager spoke of the fact cash-rich Newcastle United and Manchester City have no ceiling when it comes to their transfer spending - despite Financial Fair Play restrictions - and sarcastically stated: “Congratulations, some other clubs have ceilings’.

Fair play to Jurgen for struggling on with his £67m goalkeeper, £75m centre-back and forwards that costs well over £140m before adding Cody Gakpo at a cost of around £38m. There are now reports the Reds have been rummaging around the back of the sofa for more loose change, as the Daily Express have suggested Klopp is ‘considering’ a summer move for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The Portugal star joined the Cottagers in a £20m during the summer and has impressed as the Cottagers have put themselves into contention for an unlikely push for a European place. Palhinha would no doubt command a significant fee after making an impressive start to life in England and is said to be the subject of interest from a number of big-name clubs…including Liverpool.

Feeding frenzy for Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers have well and truly hit the panic button by adopting an anyone and everyone approach to the transfer market this month.

We want your feedback on 3 Added Minutes - details here.

Currently sat second from bottom in the Premier League table, the Molineux club have suddenly embarked on a signing frenzy over the last 24 hours. The loan deal that took Atletico Madrid star Matheus Cunha to the Midlands just a fortnight ago has already been converted into a permanent switch.

However, the forward could be joined by several new faces with Julen Lopetegui is in talks with OGC Nice and Flamengo over deals for Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes respectively and Sky Sports News are now reporting an approach has been made for Paris Saint-Germain star Pablo Sarabia.

Champions League players coming in to rescue the club from dropping into the Championship - that will work…right?

Hammers have little or no interest in World Cup star...but there is a small chance they do want him.

West Ham United’s bid to bring in a striker will almost certainly not be leading to an offer for Sevilla frontman Youssef En-Nesyri…but there is a chance.

One source within the Hammers setup has evoked memories of Lloyd Christmas in ‘Dumb and Dumber’ by giving of vibes of ‘So you’re telling me there’s a chance?’. They have claimed there is only a small chance of David Moyes having an interest in the striker, who appeared for Morocco in their historic run to their semi-final of the 2022 World Cup.

They told ClaretandHugh: “There’s a 10 per cent or less interest from us. His goal scoring this season is terrible and he doesn’t really want to leave Spain so it is very unlikely indeed.”

So naturally, you can expect to come back to these pages over the coming days and find some sort of wise crack about the Hammers actually signing En-Nesyri.
