The Chris Wheatley Show: Antonio Conte’s Tottenham future, plus Arsenal shine, and Bukayo Saka contract update
and live on Freeview channel 276
Hey, Antonio, why don’t you tell us how you really feel? The Tottenham manager caused quite the hullabaloo last week when he had the audacity to suggest that Spurs, who haven’t won a trophy since 2008, aren’t very good at winning trophies. Now, in fairness, Conte might have a point, but seeing as it is technically his job to, y’know, change that, perhaps it would have been more prudent of him to keep his mouth zipped and not draw too much unnecessary attention to the club’s ongoing barren spell.
Then again, you get the impression that the Italian is past the point of caring. Bridges are seemingly being burned as we speak, and Conte has already hopped on the first available RyanAir flight back to his home country, leaving RyanMason looking like the most likely short term candidate to assume first team duties in his absence. At the time of writing, Conte is still in a job in north London, but for how much longer, who can say?
