Nottingham Forest are in search of a last-gasp striker to come in and lift the roof at the City ground.

The last 10 days have been very frustrating for Nottingham Forest—they were very close to signing Eddie Nketiah and had even booked a medical for the Arsenal man before the deal fell through.

Nketiah has been strongly linked with an Arsenal exit this summer, and the City Ground would have been an ideal destination for him. However, 3addedminutes has been told that he doesn't really want to leave London, and Crystal Palace has been strongly linked to signing him.

Forest then turned their attention to Santiago Giménez, but reports suggest he’s not interested. This leaves Nuno Espirito Santo looking at the next few days, hoping to land a striker who will guarantee goals and deliver immediately.

This is where former West Ham striker Sebastien Haller comes in. He is Premier League-proven after his time at West Ham, possesses a winning mentality, and fits the profile of the striker Forest are looking for at the City Ground.

Dortmund is a selling club, and they are currently exploring ways to generate funds, possibly to bring Jadon Sancho back from Manchester United. Haller has consistently demonstrated his ability to score goals at various levels, including in the Bundesliga, Premier League, and Eredivisie. His clinical finishing would add a significant goal threat to Nottingham Forest's attack, which they may need to secure their Premier League status.

Haller is not just a traditional number nine; he is versatile and can play in various attacking roles. Whether leading the line, playing in a two-striker system, or even dropping deeper to link up play, his tactical flexibility would give Forest more options in attack.

Additionally, there is the issue of unfinished business in the Premier League. When he arrived at West Ham, many expected him to make a big impact, but it didn't happen, and he moved on to Dortmund, where he has built a decent career, even helping them reach the Champions League final.

Haller's resilience is also noteworthy. He fought back from illness and returned to win the AFCON, embodying the kind of striker Nuno Espirito Santo values—one who is an example on and off the field.

Nottingham Forest has always favoured a physical striker who can score goals. Chris Wood is currently the main man, but before him, there was Taiwo Awoniyi, who has struggled with injuries, though he remains at the club.

This season looks like it will be another where securing Premier League survival is the ultimate goal. A striker like Haller, who knows how to find the back of the net, has experience, and is relatively affordable at just £30 million, would be a great signing. Most strikers at his level would command around £50 million, so he would essentially be a steal at that price.
