5. Sergio Busquets
Busquets is a legend at Barcelona, but is he really one of the first names that comes to mind when you think of Barca’s dominance over those golden years? Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Luis Suarez. There are so many reasons why Busquets is overlooked, but he was absolutely pivotal to that golden generation’s success.
6. Nicky Butt
Butt was often overlooked amid the natural flare of David Beckham and co, but he was the engine room for United over many years, and he has to go down as one of the club’s most industrious players.
7. Thomas Muller
Muller has been exceptional during a superb career so far, but he has often been overshadowed by Robert Lewandowski. He will go down as a Bayern Munich legend and a world champion, but the talent of others during his time may mean he is not quite remembered as well as he should be when he does hang up his boots.
8. Ronald Koeman
Koeman is not always listed as one of Barcelona’s all-time best players, but he should be. The versatile defender was much more than his rediculously good free-kicks, he was a superb defender, and he isn’t remembered quite as well as he should be.
