Arsenal are now preparing for their final game before the month-long World Cup break.
The Gunners were in Carabao Cup action during the week, but they dropped out of the competition with a home defeat to Brighton. The Premier League is the priority, though, and the Gunners will take on Wolves on Saturday night as they look to go into the break sitting top of the table. After that game, we won’t see Arsenal in action again until Boxing Day.
In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Gunners.
Arsenal are said to have struck an agreement with Youri Tielemans ahead of next season.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Leicester City star, who is out of contract at the end of this season as things stand. According to Voetbal Primeur via Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners already have a verbal deal in place to sign Tielemans for free at the end of the current campaign.
Though, there are some question marks - Arsenal can’t technically have an official agreement at this point, or a non-official one for that matter due to strict regulations. There’s also the question of whether Leicester will try to sell Tielemans before the end of the season to get some money for one of their star midfielders.
Arsenal are also being linked with a move for Villarreal winger Samu Chukwueze. The Nigerian winger has been linked in the past, but The Sun are saying there is fresh interest from the Gunners as Mikel Arteta eyes reinforcements out wide.
Chukwueze was tipped for huge things, but amid struggles with consistency in his final product, he has stagnated a little with the Yellows, and he wasn’t always a guaranteed starter under Unai Emery. Though, he is still only 23 years of age. Chukwueze has a release clause worth £71million, but Villarreal may do a deal for less if they can find a worthy replacement.
