Hide AdNeves to United latest
Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Benfica star Joao Neves this summer. It was claimed earlier this week that an offer worth more than £60million was made for the talented young midfielder.
But according to O Jogo, no such offer has been made, with Benfica yet to receive any offer despite reported interest from United and PSG. Erik ten Hag is looking for a holding midfielder this summer, and Neves is dubbed one of the most talented young players in the position.
Neto ‘talks’
Arsenal have reportedly held talks over a possible deal to sign Wolves and Portugal star Pedro Neto this summer. According to TEAMtalk, Neto is back on the Gunners’ radar having been linked regularly in the past.
Neto is coming off his best season yet, and Mikel Arteta is said to want to sign a winger to add depth and competition out wide. Any deal is likely to be a costly one this summer, with Wolves boss Gary O’Neill previously saying of the winger: “Pedro’s really happy at the club and, if nothing happens for him in the summer and there’s no big offers or big clubs coming in for him, he’s more than committed to cracking on and showing everyone how good he is next season in a Wolves shirt. I understand the noise because of how good he is and the potential value he has, but there’s none of that from Pedro. He’s just focused on being as good as he can be.”

Hide AdWood on Saints move
New Southampton signing Nathan Wood has admitted he kept in touch with Saints boss Russell Martin after he left Swansea City for St Mary’s Stadium. He told the Daily Echo: “We have always kept in touch, since he left, in a personal way really because we got on quite well. We had a good relationship so we kept in touch throughout the past year, so when the phone call came and they wanted me to come it was easy.
"It's massive for any player when you know you have got someone who believes in you, will give you a chance and improve you as a person and player. That was a big thing at Swansea, I was moving away for the first time away from home and I had to get used to living five hours away from home.”
He added: “I improved on the pitch in that 40 games but it was more off the pitch that was the big difference - it was down to him. It was a great group of lads at Swansea but I think that filtered down from the way the manager set standards and the environment."
