Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly ready to fight it out to seal a deal for Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen.

Malen has already been linked with a move to England after several outlets in Germany suggested the Netherlands international could be used in a swap deal that would see Red Devils winger Jadon Sancho move back to Dortmund on a permanent basis.  However, Bild have now claimed there is competition for Malen after the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool were said to be monitoring the forward in advance of the January transfer window.

The Dutch star has scored 13 goals and five assists in 33 appearances in all competitions this season and has been a key reason why Dortmund came through a Champions League group containing Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United and AC Milan before making their way into the last eight of European football’s premier club cup competition.

The 3AM Verdict:  “Malen has been viewed as full of potential throughout the early years of his career after spending time with Ajax, Arsenal and PSV Eindhoven.  It seems his move to Dortmund has given him an even bigger platform to shine and he now looks ready to make the step into the Premier League - but a deal won’t come cheaply for any willing suitor.”

La Liga giants eye shock Old Trafford swoop

Almost 15 years have passed since Real Madrid plundered Manchester United and secured a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo.

And the La Liga champions are reportedly ready to repeat that trick by launching a summer bid to secure the services of another Red Devils winger, Alejandro Garnacho.  The three-times capped Argentina international has forced his way into Erik ten Hag’s side on a regular basis this season and has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 38 appearances in all competitions during the current season.

Spanish outlet Exclusivo have now claimed Real are ready to use the same tactics they implemented in their successful pursuit of Ronaldo to persuade United into allowing Garnacho to leave the club this summer.  The report states the Spanish club have been watching the winger’s progress in recent weeks and have now set their sights on securing a deal at the end of the campaign.

The 3AM Verdict: “Erik ten Hag has routinely spoken with enthusiasm over the number of young players coming through the ranks at Old Trafford and it seems likely Garnacho is the cause of much of his enthusiasm.  This deal feels unlikely at this point in time as the winger seems to be a big part in United’s plans - but every player has a price!”

Tottenham consider surprise West Ham deal

Ange Postecoglou has enjoyed a largely positive start to life at Tottenham Hotspur and has led the North London club into contention to a return to the Champions League.

However, the former Celtic boss remains keen to build on the foundations he has put in place by strengthening the Spurs defence over the coming months.  A number of targets have been identified but Football Transfers have claimed West Ham United’s Ben Johnson is near the top of their list as they seek competition for Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie.

The 3AM Verdict: “Johnson’s versatility will be of use to Postecoglou if Spurs can persuade the Hammers star to the join them this summer.  The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and would be a prudent addition for Spurs if he does cross London.”
