All the latest Premier League transfer news, involving Liverpool, Arsenal, and Brighton

We begin Tuesday’s Premier League transfer rumour roundup with news of Liverpool and their emerging interest in Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Reds are keen on the Dane, but could be thwarted in their efforts to sign him.

Despite the fact that admiration has ‘rained down’ from Arne Slot’s men - as well as Premier League rivals Aston Villa - it is suggested that the Serie A side are reluctant to part company with their asset, and consider him to be ‘unsellable’ this summer. Genoa are said to be keen on signing Jens Cajuste from Napoli, but see him as a prospective partner, rather than a replacement, for Frendrup.

The 3AM Verdict: This sounds likes it could end up being a frustrating one for Liverpool, all things told. Frendrup is a fine player, but Genoa are fully aware of that fact, and will do their utmost to keep hold of the Dane this summer. If Liverpool want midfield reinforcements, they might have to look elsewhere.

Arsenal keen on Osimhen

Elsewhere, Arsenal have reportedly ‘returned’ to the chase for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian is heavily in demand this summer, but the understanding is that the Gunners have made contact with his current employers to discuss his potential availability, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Chelsea are also interested in Osimhen, who has ‘always dreamed’ of playing in England, but neither the Blues nor Arsenal are yet to make any formal proposals for his signature. It is claimed that Napoli may also have to compromise on their £84 million asking price for the centre forward.

The 3AM Verdict: This is exciting news for Arsenal fans. Osimhen is a superb talent, and for the Gunners to be actively in the race for his services is a real statement of intent. It is also promising that Napoli are likely to compromise on that exorbitant asking price; the more affordable Osimhen becomes, the more probable it is that Arsenal will be able to put together some kind of bid for him.

Brighton close in on Gomez

And finally, Brighton and Hove Albion are said to be in advanced talks to sign Inter Miami midfielder Diego Gomez in a deal worth around £11.8 million, according to Caught Offside. The Paraguayan’s former side, Club Libertad, will receive 50% of the profit from his move to England, and Inter Miami’s only demand is to have the 21-year-old returns to Florida so that he is available for selection for them until the end of December, after the final of the MLS Cup. That would be perfectly viable if Albion were to agree to a loan stint.

The 3AM Verdict: Gomez is a big, big talent, and one with a huge ceiling of potential. The South American is yet to be capped at senior international level, but he does have six goals in nine outings for Paraguay’s U23s, as well as three goals and three assists in a dozen MLS outings so far this season. Currently in action at the Olympics, he has two assists in two games, and all in all, he oozes creativity.
