The latest Fantasy Premier League injury news, including updates on David Raya, Jarrod Bowen, James Maddison and more...

The Fantasy Premier League deadline looms large and while we all work out how to get the most of the double gameweek and whether we should use our assistant manager chip, we can’t forget to keep across the fitness concerns that could affect our teams – and as always, we’re here to keep you up-to-date with all the new injury worries and whether the players who suddenly have yellow triangles next to their names will play or not.

David Raya, Jarrod Bowen and James Maddison are among the important assets with question marks over their availability, and we’ve got the latest news on all three of them and many more players besides to help you plan your transfer business.

And if you need some more general advice about which Liverpool and Everton players to pick and when to drop that assistant manager chip, our resident FPL expert is here to help with his latest regular column, which covers both subjects in depth.

David Raya

More than a quarter of the world’s FPL players have the Spaniard in as their first-choice glovesman, and they may not like what Mikel Arteta had to say during his pre-match press conference.

The former Brentford and Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper picked up a knock in training and is a doubt for Sunday’s game against champions Manchester City, with Arteta describing his status as “uncertain” and suggesting that a decision would be made during a Saturday training session. As always with Arsenal, do remember that Arteta is pretty sparing with the full truth when it comes to fitness concerns…

Jarrod Bowen

Bowen is a popular FPL asset but has missed four consecutive gameweeks thanks to injury – but he is close to a return, with Graham Potter saying that he was “positive” about the winger’s fitness and that he was back in training this week. Potter did also suggest that he would need “a few more days” before playing, which implies that he won’t feature against Chelsea, however. One for next week, perhaps.

James Maddison & Richarlison

If it’s not one thing, it’s another at Tottenham these days – James Maddison is expected to be out for around three weeks thanks to a calf injury, per reports, despite embattled manager Ange Postecoglou saying that he had hoped he would only be out for around a week. Richarlison, who picked up yet another injury of his own last week, may play this weekend but he is not believed to be at 100%.

Diogo Jota & Darwin Núñez

With so many players planning for triple Liverpool this weekend, it’s worth being aware that Jota and Darwin, both of whom have been injured of late, were in training on Friday with at least some chance of playing a part this week – which could in turn impact the minutes of Cody Gakpo and Luis Díaz. That might nudge players in the direction of making Arne Slot the assistant manager and rolling with two Liverpool players, something which has been made even more appealing now that we know that Liverpool with have another double gameweek in GW25 should they get past Spurs in the EFL Cup.

Solly March

A sum total of 0.0% of players have March in their side right now, but those with memories better than that of a goldfish might recall that he was a rock solid budget asset before all his injury problems – Fabian Hürzeler has ruled him out this weekend but he will be back soon. Don’t sign him yet, of course, but this may be one worth having on your radar for the run-in.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

If you were thinking of signing the budget striker to attack the double gameweek, don’t – while the injury he picked up in the 1-0 win over Brighton is “not as bad as first feared”, according to David Moyes, he will miss several weeks of action. No timeline for a return exists, with Moyes simply saying he is “hoping he will play again this season.” In other words, he’s out for a while. Dwight McNeil, who has undergone surgery on an injury of his own, is also out.

Rúben Dias & Nathan Aké

Most players have long since abandoned the Manchester City defence thanks to their unexpectedly ropy form, but just in case you couldn’t bear to let either Dias or Aké go, you should probably be aware that they’re both out again this weekend, as Pep Guardiola confirmed. Jérémy Doku is in the same boat, but hasn’t been a factor in the FPL at all this season, so that’s a concern for very few active players indeed.
