Liverpool missed out on the Champions League last season after an underwhelming campaign and will be looking to get back into the top four next time around. Jurgen Klopp’s side have the opportunity to bolster their ranks once the transfer window opens.

Manchester United finished 3rd in the table after their first year under Erik ten Hag and will be looking forward to seeing European football return to Old Trafford. The Red Devils also got their hands on the Carabao Cup after beating Newcastle United in the final at Wembley, as well as getting to the FA Cup final.

Arsenal missed out on the title to Manchester City and were neck and neck with Pep Guardiola’s side for large spells. However, they ultimately fell short in the end and will be eyeing potential reinforcements this summer. With that in mind, here is a look at some cut-price targets the top flight trio should all consider over the next couple of months as they eye up new additions.....

Wilfried Zaha - Crystal Palace (free)

Wilfried Zaha’s deal at Crystal Palace expires at the end of the month and he is yet to put pen-to-paper on an extension which means he is due to become a free agent very soon as things stand. Although he has already been at United and that move didn’t work out, the winger is an option for Liverpool and Arsenal.

The fact he is available for nothing means that the pair can save themselves a transfer fee in the process. He is also an experienced player and already knows the league like the back of his hand meaning there isn’t the risk of him taking a while to adapt to a new league as there sometimes can be with a player coming in from abroad.

Zaha would give you instant results and could certainly do a job for a year or two. He has scored 90 goals in 458 games for Palace so far in his career.

Dani Ceballos - Real Madrid (free)

Like Zaha, Dani Ceballos is also due to become a free agent in a couple of weeks time. He is mulling over his future in Spain with La Liga giants Real Madrid and would be an ideal addition for a team in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old, who is a Spain international with 13 caps under his belt, would inject serious quality into the midfield department of United, Liverpool and Arsenal if one of the three clubs were to win the race for his signature. He is a natural winner and has won the Champions League twice as well as a whole host of domestic titles during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Prior to his move to Madrid, he rose up through the ranks at Real Betis and broke into their first-team as a youngster.

Adrien Rabiot - Juventus (free)

Adrien Rabiot would definitely be worth a punt by an English outfit with contract due to expire soon and landing him is a no-brainer. The France international has been a key player for Juventus since joining them in 2019 and has since played 177 games for them in all competitions, chipping in with 17 goals, 11 of which came in this past season.

United have been linked with him over recent times and he would slot into their starting XI next to Casemiro nicely. He would also add more competition and depth to Liverpool and Arsenal’s midfield departments too.

Prior to his transfer to Italy, the 28-year-old played for PSG and won the Ligue 1 title on five occasions. Rabiot has a big decision to make on which direction he wants his career to take next.

Marcus Thuram - Borussia Mönchengladbach (free)

Marcus Thuram is ready to find himself a new home on a free transfer following his departure from Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany. The pacey winger is yet to be snapped up by someone and his style of play would suit the Premier League.

He has caught the eye in the Bundesliga over recent years and scored 44 goals in 134 games during his stint at Borussia-Park. The 25-year-old started out with spells in France at Sochaux and Guingamp.

Thuram would particularly be an exciting addition for Erik ten Hag’s side as they look to bring in some more players as they look to balance the league and their return to the Champions League. They will need more depth in attacking areas, especially if Tottenham Hotspur-linked Jadon Sancho was to depart.

Paulo Dybala - Roma

Paulo Dybala has got his career back on track with Roma under Jose Mourinho’s guidance and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them face a battle to keep hold of him in the near future. The Italy international is said to have a release clause of just £10.6 million for clubs abroad and €20m for fellow Italian sides, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, and the player will have the ‘final day’ on his next destination if he was to leave.

For that type of money, he could be worth luring to England for at least a single campaign. He has been a hit since moving to Rome last July, scoring 16 goals in all competitions, and is still only 29-year-old.

Jonathan Bamba - Lille

The fact Jonathan Bamba is leaving Lille when his contract runs out has largely gone under the radar and he could be a shrewd pick up by someone. He has been one of the key players at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy over the past five seasons and has the found the net 29 times in 200 games, playing a key role in their Ligue 1 title win in 2021 against the odds.

He has never played outside of France but at the age of 27 now, he is coming into his prime and would provide strong back-up in attacking areas for the likes of United, Liverpool and Arsenal if one of them were willing to give him a chance.
