Chelsea are facing a number of big decisions over the future of several key players this summer and they plan for life under a new manager.

With Mauricio Pochettino reportedly closing in on becoming the latest man to take charge at Stamford Bridge, thoughts are turning towards how the Blues squad will look when the former Tottenham Hotspur boss steps into the hottest of hot seats. One player that could find himself heading through the exit door is England midfielder Mason Mount, who will head into the final 12 months of his current contract at the end of the season.

Newcastle United and Manchester City have both been linked with Mount in recent months - but Football Insider have now reported neither the current Premier League leaders or the top four contenders are planning any offer to end Mount’s time at Stamford Bridge. The Magpies are said to have informed Chelsea they are ‘not willing’ to meet their demands for the attacking midfielder and City will focus their summer transfer business elsewhere as they look to strengthen a squad that could complete a historic treble by the time the final whistle is blown on the season.

The England international moved to the City Ground in search of regular first-team football after playing second fiddle to Red Devils goalkeeper David de Gea. After starting the season as Steve Cooper’s first-choice stopper, a thigh injury looks to have curtailed Henderson’s hopes of adding to his 20 appearances for the club.

Cooper has already confirmed the 26-year-old is ‘unlikely to play again this season’ - but could be handed a chance to return to the City Ground on a permanent deal this summer, with Football Insider claiming Forest said to be ‘open’ to making Henderson a regular feature in their squad next season.
