Both Chelsea and Arsenal have players that could solve puzzles in their squad and give fresh starts.

Chelsea are trying to get rid of Trevoh Chalobah, after he was left behind in Cobham to train with the reserve team, while Aaron Ramsdale is not happy with his role in north London. Both players want to continue playing at the top level or at least be given the opportunity to fight for their spots.

There is also the issue of Chelsea trying to sell players for pure profit, but they could balance that with a good English goalkeeper who is proven and reportedly has the big aura to influence others to achieve massive results.

When Ramsdale first walked through the door at Arsenal, not many gave him a chance given how his time at Sheffield United ended, but there is a claim to be made that he is one of the building blocks of this Arsenal team. He is English, hungry, and could be the kind of goalkeeper who walks into the Chelsea dressing room and not only fights for his shirt with the likes of incoming Filip Jörgensen or the already present Robert Sanchez.

At 25, Ramsdale is entering the prime years of his career. Signing him would offer Chelsea a long-term solution to their goalkeeping needs, reducing the need for frequent changes in this crucial position. He also addresses Chelsea’s immediate need for a proven goalkeeper who can come into a young team and provide the kind of security required to achieve massive success.

For Arsenal, they get a competitive defender who adds squad depth, knows the Premier League, and has the potential to be an absolute game-changer under the careful management of Mikel Arteta. Chalobah has proven last season that when given the opportunity, he can be as good as anyone else. Last season, when he started a game, Chelsea did not lose in the league.

He’s also an incredible team player when it comes to creating an atmosphere of competitiveness and would genuinely love the chance to stay in London and play in a team that has potential to compete for the title with Manchester City.

In an era where clubs are looking to stay within Premier League sustainability rules, it’s quite important that the deals they make make financial sense. In this case, Chelsea get a really good goalkeeper for nothing, one who will be happy to fit into the pay structure they have at the club, while getting rid of a player they don’t want on their books. This also provides the players with a clean break and fresh start to go on with their careers, with everyone shaking hands and leaving happy.

Not many deals make sense without the swap of money, but a deal like this one has all it takes to work on and off the field. Arsenal get stronger as they look to hunt down Manchester City, and Chelsea also get stronger in their quest to be a proper top-four Premier League side.
