Everton defensive and midfield issues

Seamus Coleman - out

Everton remain without the right-back as he continues to battle back from a muscle injury. He was placed in interim charge along with Leighton Baines following Sean Dyche’s sacking. Moyes said last week: “Seamus just had a slight injury in training, so [he's] a way bit behind that.” Expected return date: 08/02/2025.

Timothy Iroegbunam - out

The Toffees swooped to land the midfielder from Aston Villa last summer. He has been sidelined with a foot injury but is set for a return to training. After moving to Merseyside last June, he said: "Everton is an amazing club, a big club and I'm just really happy to join and I can't wait to get started. It was a move that I didn't want to pass by. I wanted to take the opportunity." Expected return date: 08/02/2025.

James Garner - doubt

He is back training but it remains to be seen when he will be thrown back into the squad. The former Manchester United and Nottingham Forest man has been unavailable with an injury to his lower back. Expected return date: 01/02/2025.

The striker has had rotten luck on the injury front so far in his career. In this latest setback, he is set for 12 weeks out with ankle ligament damage. Moyes has said: “Not absolutely happening, but his injury is now going to take a lot longer than initially thought. It is one of the options that might be available, but people around the club are talking about it with Chelsea.” Expected return date: 30/03/2025.

Dwight McNeil - doubt

Everton haven’t played him since early December against Wolves. He has been in the treatment room with a knee problem. In this latest update, his head coach has said: “We’re hoping Dwight isn’t too far away but we’re just waiting on some more information.” Expected return date: 25/01/2025.

Youssef Ramalho Chermiti - out

The attacker has a thigh issue and it remains to be seen at this stage how long he could potentially still be out for. His former manager Dyche said earlier this month: “Youssef is going to be out for a while - longer than we'd hoped - it's not going to be days; it's going to be weeks.” Expected return date: No date.
