Dreams are strange things aren’t they?

Some believe they a slide into our conscious, an unexpected insight into how our mind works once we fall asleep. Some believe there are predictive powers that lie within dreams, giving a view of events of what is yet to come.

If that is to believed, Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has endured visions of battling providing a steely presence in midfield alongside Luka Modric and providing support to Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema if his latest comments are taken at face value.

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moisés Caicedo revealed he was ‘really close’ to joining Arsenal in the January transfer window – and admitted he ‘suffered a lot’ after the move broke down. Speaking in an interview with SER, the Ecuador international has claimed his ‘biggest dream’ is to wear the famous white kit of Real Madrid and to represent the La Liga giants in the Champions League.

He said: “I’m doing things very well now; so why not join Real Madrid one day and win the Champions League? It’s my biggest dream. It’s very nice to see how Madrid plays and the personality that players like Vinicius, (Eduardo) Camavinga, (Federico) Valverde have. I also really enjoy watching (Toni) Kroos. To play for Madrid you have to work very hard.”

“The only thing I want is to have fun on the pitch,” he stressed. “The pressure doesn’t affect me. What I want to do now is to win titles and listen to the Champions League anthem, it’s my next step. I might even cry when I hear it.”

The latest speculation suggests the Brazilian frontman will join Barcelona and join the attacking ranks at the Camp Nou. But what about what he leaves behind? Will Jurgen Klopp move into the transfer market to replace a player that helped him to FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League wins during his time on Merseyside.

No, it seems not, at least if Klopp’s comments after Saturday’s win against Nottingham Forest are anything to go by. Speaking about Firmino and January signing Cody Gakpo, he said: “We play in public, so you can watch all the games. I think Bobby in this role is an inspiration for pretty much every player in a similar position, so that’s clear.

“Cody is 23 years old, he was captain of his former club – I had no clue how that happens that early and then when he arrived here you realise, ‘Ah OK, he’s a super-smart kid, really open and a real team player’ and stuff like this. On top of that, a really good footballer.

“He can play this position, can play wide, can play the centre. The real nine, a bit higher up, he can play that as well; double striker, can play that as well. So, he can create his own way there on the position, so it’s not like we have to do it exactly because nobody can do it like Bobby, because nobody is Bobby.”
