and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 13 deadline comes early this time around, and we’ll need to make all of our changes by 18:30 GMT on Friday evening to avoid missing out – and to make life a little easier, we’re here again with all the latest FPL injury news.
Gabriel Magalhães, Ibrahima Konaté and Diogo Jota are among the players who are doubts for the weekend’s games, with centre-backs seemingly at the top of most injury lists right now – we’ve listened to all the managers’ press conferences and read through the media reports to get the latest updates on those three and many more below. Arsenal have quite a few defensive injuries to deal with right now and may have another – Gabriel picked up a knock towards the end of the Gunners’ 5-1 Champions League win over Sporting and is very much a doubt for the coming match against West Ham United.
As usual, Mikel Arteta was in a less then helpful mood. Gabriel seems to have been among “a few” players who weren’t able to train yesterday, but all the Spaniard said specifically about his centre-back was “we will wait and see.” As is so often the case with Arsenal injuries, we’re afraid that we’re left in the dark. This is, after all, a manager who we now know likes to get injured players to come off the team bus in full training gear to throw the opposition off the scent.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konaté & Diogo Jota
In a week where most teams haven’t had too many significant new injury concerns, Liverpool are the club which throw up the most questions. Alexander-Arnold missed last weekend’s match through injury but was back on the bench for the midweek win over Real Madrid and is likely to play this weekend – stand-in Conor Bradley played quite superbly in his place against Real but picked up a knock in the process.
Bradley will be assessed ahead of their next match against Manchester City, but one player who certainly won’t feature is Konaté, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that the defender will be out for “an extended period” due to a knee injury sustained in the midweek match. Diogo Jota is getting closer to a return but is “not there yet”, per Slot’s most recent press conference prior to the Champions League game against Real.

A fair number of players have the Argentine centre-half in their squads but it’s looking unlikely that he’ll feature this weekend – he’s close to coming back from an ankle injury but according to Ange Postecoglou he’s “probably unlikely” to play, although the Australian manager did say that he wasn’t ruling Romero out of action for Sunday. He also clarified that Dominic Solanke is “fine” to play.
Joachim Andersen
Another relatively popular defensive choice, Fulham defender Andersen was forced off ten minutes from the end of their 4-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last week thanks to a calf problem, and will now miss the “next few games” as a result. One to transfer out or leave on the bench, unfortunately.
Jacob Greaves
A relatively popular budget choice, the Ipswich Town defender seems to be back in training and fit again, but that doesn’t mean that he’ll slot straight back into the starting line-up, even if he is 100% - Kieran McKenna was quickly to talk up the performances of his deputy Cameron Burgess and only described the decision to bring Greaves back in as “the type of decision you want to have.” A minutes risk, perhaps.
Eberechi Eze
The England man has been slowly making his way back to full fitness and Oliver Glasner suggested last week that he was close to a return – and he followed that up by confirming today that Eze would be in the squad, albeit not that he would start. If you’re considering bringing Eze back into your team once he’s fit and firing, the time could be now.
