Liverpool and West Ham both have the opportunity to do transfer business this summer

Liverpool’s decision to bring in Arne Slot has worked out well for them. He was picked as their replacement for Jurgen Klopp last year. The Dutchman, who impressed at Feyernoord before moving to England, had some big shoes to fill at Anfield.

The Reds are set to win the Premier League title this season ahead of Arsenal. Despite the fact they haven’t been able to win any cups, it has still been a decent first year for Slot. The Merseyside giants can look forward to having Mo Salah for another couple of years as well as securing a new contract for him.

As for West Ham, they are going through a transitional period. They had their post-David Moyes sack dip under Julen Lopetegui and have since brought in Graham Potter to steady the shop. The Hammers are sat in 17th in the table but won’t go down with Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town below them.

Potter is getting to grips with life at the London Stadium and results haven’t been great. He will want to put his own stamp on his squad when the new window opens. The ex-Chelsea man will be eager to bring in some more quality.

Liverpool admirers of West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus

Liverpool should look to freshen up their attacking department with some reinforcements. According to The Athletic, Mohammed Kudus has a release clause in his contract worth £85 million. He would be ideal for Slot’s side if they were able to land him.

The Reds will have balance their domestic duties with Champions League football again in the next campaign. That means they need as much depth as possible and have different options available. Their squad isn’t the biggest at the moment and bringing in some more bodies would be a sensible move.

Kudus, 24, would be a great acquisition as he can play down the middle behind the striker or on either flank. The 24-year-old, who is a Ghana international with 42 caps to his name, joined West Ham back in 2023. He has since adapted well to life in England and his current club will want to keep hold of him for as long as possible.

The former Ajax man has made 74 appearances in all competitions to date, 29 of which have come this term, and he has fired 17 goals altogether. His deal runs out in June 2028 meaning he still has a hefty chunk of time left. He will want to test himself at the top level though and this year could be a good time to move on.

West Ham swap deal involving Caoimhin Kelleher

West Ham won’t want to lose Kudus to anyone so Liverpool should try and tempt them with a cash plus player swap deal. It seems inevitable that Caoimhin Kelleher will leave for a new challenge somewhere else. The Mirror have claimed that he has emerged as a ‘top’ target for Potter.

Therefore, the Reds need to offer him as part of a swoop for Kudus. Although it would be massive setback to lose such a key man, getting someone in return would help soften the blow a bit. Kelleher appears to be a player who the London club are keen on and he would be a shrewd addition if they got him.

The Republic of Ireland needs to be a number one at this stage of his career. He has mainly been a back-up behind Allison over recent years and has the ability to be the main man at other club. When called upon, he has shown he has what it takes to perform at the top level and has rarely let Liverpool down.

Giorgi Mamardashvili will link up with Slot’s side soon following his move from Valencia. That will push Kelleher further down the pecking order. A switch to West Ham would suit all parties involved and his chances of regular game time would be significantly increased.
