A round-up of the latest Premier League transfer rumours following another hectic weekend in the top flight. As always, there is some 3AddedMinutes insight and opinion thrown in for good measure.
Liverpool chase Kovac
The Daily Mail claim Liverpool are considering a move for former Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac. Xabi Alonso was the man Reds fans seemed set on until the Spaniard confirmed he will be staying at Bayer Leverkusen next season.

Hide AdKovac, who managed Munich for 18 months and led them to a league and cup double, was dismissed by Wolfsburg last month. The report names Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim as the No.1 target but Kovac is on the shortlist.
Other high-profile jobs he has held include Eintracht Frankfurt, Monaco and Croatia. Not having to stump up compensation would also be a bonus for Liverpool.
The 3AM verdict: Any appointment that is not Alonso feels like a kick in the teeth for Liverpool fans - who were hellbent on reuniting with their former midfielder. With that said, you would imagine they are more open to Amorim - whose stock is high - than someone recently sacked at a mid-table Bundesliga club.
Boehly on finances
Todd Boehly has reassured Chelsea fans that their finances are in order despite a concerning FFP/PSR forecast. The Blues record a £121million loss in their latest accounts, with the £36million profit from 2019-20 not included in next year’s figures.

Hide AdThat is before another season without European football - which now looks likely. Over £1billion has been spent on transfers since a consortium - fronted by Boehly - bought out Roman Abramovich.
"The club continues to balance success on the field together with the financial imperatives of complying with UEFA and Premier League financial regulations," he said. “The club has complied with these since their inception in 2012 and expects to do so in the foreseeable future."
The 3AM verdict: Boehly’s words appear futile when Chelsea fans know the reality. The cliff-edge moment is coming - barring a miracle. However, selling academy players has proven their trump card in recent years. That ace will likely need to be played again this summer to create wriggle room on the balance sheet.
Newcastle plan sale
Newcastle United will listen to offers for Miguel Almiron this summer, according to Football Insider. A front three of Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak have impressed in recent weeks, with Almiron sidelined through injury.

Hide AdThe Paraguayan has failed to replicate last season’s heroics where he enjoyed a purple patch under Eddie Howe. Reports were linking Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab with the winger in January - an approach the Magpies rejected. However, they are reportedly open to doing a deal at the end of the season. Almiron is capable of playing on either flank or as a No.10.
3AM verdict: When Darren Eales hinted at possible exits earlier this year, many feared the worst regarding Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak. But few will be losing sleep should Almiron leave the club. His beaming smile and tireless work rate make him a likeable figure but, in terms of quality, he is lacking. No doubt he will leave with the Toon faithful’s backing when the day comes.
