Liverpool have a lot to consider on the transfer market once 2025 comes around. After a quiet January and summer this year, the Reds are expected to make some significant changes to their roster at the end of the season. Three key players remain at risk of leaving as free agents but some fringe and rotational players are also attracting interest.
One man who has been in the eyesight of other clubs since the summer is Caoimhin Kelleher. Celtic had been looking to sign him to replace Joe Hart but Liverpool’s asking price was reportedly out of their budget. The link remains between the Hoops and Kelleher, as he has made it clear he wants to establish himself as a number one option.
It doesn’t look like the Reds are willing to loosen up on their cash expectations though. According to Football Insider, Celtic would have to pay a ‘Scottish record transfer fee’ if they want to convince Liverpool to sell their shot-stopper. The reported £25-30 million asking price set by the Reds will likely be ‘too expensive’ for the Scottish Premiership champions to afford.
The 3AM Verdict: Kelleher’s departure from Anfield seems inevitable at this point. Alisson is under contract until 2027 and recent reports have suggested he wants to prolong his stay on Merseyside. As things stand, the Brazilian will remain the first choice between the sticks and the pending arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili will mean competition for Kelleher. The solid Ireland international has always shown up when called upon but a player of his calibre cannot spend his career playing mainly second fiddle. Liverpool should look to give him the move he craves next summer but without selling themselves short financially — it’s a tough balance to strike.

Recent reports have been linking Jhon Durán with a move to Arsenal but the player himself has handed the Gunners, and any other interest parties, a blow in their pursuits.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Aston Villa star — who has scored eight goals in all tournaments so far this season — was asked about rumours linking him to other clubs.
“Yes, I think there were rumours. As a young man, the head goes to other places. But there was always total support from Unai, from [president of football operations] Monchi, and above all from Damian [Vidagany, director of football operations].
“The three of them are important pillars in this club. They have achieved many things in a short time, and they have helped me a lot. They were very valuable to me because they kept me grounded, they told me things as they have to be said. So I think that helps, in a way, the mind, and they... I don't know, the start of the season was about my mind. Now it's different.

The 3AM Verdict: There is a lot of excitement building at Aston Villa at the moment and it’s clear Unai Emery and co are eager to keep pushing. Despite not starting a single Premier League game this season, Durán has been a game-changer coming off the bench, scoring in three consecutive games and aiding all three wins. The impact of Durán is not something Villa will want to part ways with easily and if the player is happy with his role and where the club is going, it’s going to be a tough ask for other clubs to peel him away.
