The blockbuster Liverpool and Wolves transfer swap deal that could break the internet
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Liverpool’s decision to turn to Arne Slot last year has turned out to be a masterstroke. He was picked as their replacement for Jurgen Klopp after catching the eye in the Netherlands with Feyernood and he had big shoes to fill at Anfield. The Dutchman has managed to win the Premier League title in his first season ahead of Arsenal, securing himself legendary status at the club within a matter of months.
As for Wolves, they looked doomed to relegation for a lengthy period earlier in this campaign under former manager Gary O’Neil. However, they have since picked themselves back up since Vitor Pereira’s appointment. He is quickly becoming a pretty popular man at Molineux among the fans, with his affable persona and - most importantly - results on the pitch bringing new hope back to the West Midlands club.

After months of debate, Liverpool have ended the ‘will-they-won’t-they?’ saga of the season and tied down Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to new deals ahead of next term. However, they will see Trent Alexander-Arnold head out the exit door, which is a blow to say the least. Nevertheless, they still have plenty of reasons to be cheerful when looking ahead to the summer and their preparations for defending the title next season.
The Reds will be determined to retain their crown again next year, but you would expect the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City to come back stronger with some top quality new signings. Therefore, the upcoming transfer window is an important one for the Reds. They need to ensure that they get their recruitment spot on and bring in the correct type of characters and players capable of taking Slot’s side to the next level.
According to The Telegraph, Slot’s side are interested in a move for Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri. He is valued at £50million and is also on the radar of Pep Guardiola’s City, meaning there will be some seriously strong competition for his signature.
The Algeria international would give Liverpool more competition and depth in their defensive department. He is experienced in this country and has proven himself at the top level. The wing-back likes to get up and down the flank and would suit Slot’s style of play. Ait-Nouri played for Paris FC before joining Angers as a youngster. He broke into the first-team of the latter before moving to his current club. He has since played 151 matches and has found the net on 12 occasions.

Hide AdAt the age of 23, he still has potential and will get better down the line. He may fancy a new challenge ahead of next term and the Reds could provide him with the platform to play in a European competition. His signing could also act as a means to reinvigorate Scotland international Andy Robertson, who has had a far from impressive season despite the Reds’ title glory.
Wolves risk losing him for nothing next June if they don’t sell him this year or next January. It looks unlikely at this stage that he will pen an extension, even though they are trying. That could pave the way for Liverpool to swoop in - if they miss out on top target Milos Kerkez at AFC Bournemouth.
Robertson, as previously alluded to, isn’t getting any younger. That means other alternatives in his position need to be considered. Ait-Nouri would fit the bill and is a name to keep an eye out for.
Wolves swap deal on the cards with Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott?
Harvey Elliott’s career at Liverpool has started to stagnate, and he could do with going somewhere else to find his form and build up his confidence. Now 22, he is starting to lose his wonderkid status and needs to be getting regular first-team football. He is usually limited to substitute appearances and although he is a solid option to call upon, if the right offer came in from elsewhere then the Reds should cash in.

Hide AdAs per GiveMeSport, Wolves are preparing a club-record £45 million bid for him. Pereira could see him as someone to inject more quality into his squad. In addition, if Matheus Cunha were to leave, they would need to find some players to fill the void left by his potential departure.
With Liverpool keen on Ait-Nouri, could they use Elliott as part of a swap deal plus cash? That is an arrangement that could possibly suit all parties involved. Both teams would be getting something in return and wouldn’t be left short changed.
Elliott rose up through the ranks at Fulham before he moved to Merseyside as a teenager. He was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers to get some experience under his belt. The England youth international was given the green light to link up with the Lancashire outfit on a temporary basis to boost his development and he was a hit during his days at Ewood Park.
Upon his return to Liverpool, he started to force his way into their first-team picture. He has since played 144 games and has fired 14 goals, four of which have come this term. However, he finds it hard to get into their starting XI ahead of Salah.

Hide AdSalah isn’t going anywhere now for two years, which is far from ideal for Elliott. That means he could seek a departure and Wolves would be a perfect next home. He would be one of the first names on the team sheet and they would give him a platform to show what he can do. Overall, it’s a swap deal that would suit both sides, and allow two quality players to unlock their potential.
