Liverpool sign £30m Wolves gem and West Ham wizard as AI predicts blockbuster summer transfer window

The Premier League is won, but for Arne Slot and Liverpool their title defence plans are underway, with squad refurbishments needed as the club aim to retain their crown next campaign.

The Reds romped to title glory despite bringing in just one first-team player last summer - the hardly-used Federico Chiesa - but Slot will know that their title rivals may makes strides to catch up over the summer if more new faces aren’t brought into Anfield this time around.

We asked AI what Liverpool’s summer 2025 transfer window might look like and it gave some jaw-dropping results, predicting that the Reds will spend £180m but bring in £135m in sales in a very busy summer.

Signings brought in to strengthen defence and midfield - but no striker

The AI predicted that Liverpool will be very active in the transfer market, with defence and midfield seen as their prime areas for concern as four big-money signings are brought in.

One position that has been at the centre of much transfer speculation over recent months is Liverpool’s left-back slot, with Andy Robertson’s form inconsistent as of late and Kostas Tsimikas not seen as the long-term answer. AI predicted that the Reds will sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves in a £30m deal, with Milos Kerkez viewed as an alternative for £25m.

The Reds may also look to bring in a new face at centre-back amidst uncertainty over the future of Ibrahima Konaté, with AI predicting that Slot will opt to sign Goncalo Inácio from Sporting CP for £40m. Interestingly, no new signing is predicted at right-back, suggesting the AI believes Conor Bradley will be trusted to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold despite a deal for Jeremie Frimpong reportedly being near completion.

In an even more surprising twist, the AI predicted that Liverpool will sign Martin Zubimendi for £50m from Real Sociedad - despite reports by Fabrizio Romano earlier this month that Arsenal have completed a deal for the Spaniard. Could the AI have predicted a late hijack? Atalanta’s Ederson is viewed as a £40m alternative to Zubimendi. No new signing at striker to displace the misfiring Darwin Nunez has been predicted, but Mohammed Kudus could be brought in for £60m from West Ham as a wide option - depending on a major exit.

AI predicts shocking turn of events as star departs for Saudi

The AI may have seen something nobody else has, as it has predicted that Liverpool top scorer Mo Salah will depart for Saudi Arabia for £70m in the summer, despite having signed a two-year contract extension last month. Such a transfer would send shock-waves around the footballing world if it were to go through after months of contract speculation surrounding Salah.

In a more predictable transfer, Caoimhín Kelleher may depart for £25m to be a first-choice goalkeeper elsewhere, with West Ham suggested as a potential destination for the 26-year-old. Joe Gomez could also leave for £20m after a decade at Anfield, amidst previous interest from Newcastle and Aston Villa. Wataru Endo could also exit for £15m to make way for the hypothetical signing of Zubimendi. Finally, Nat Phillips has been predicted to leave for £5m after several loan spells, most recently with Derby County in the Championship. It remains to be seen how many of these are close to the truth, but it’s always interesting to see what AI predicts would happen in the transfer market in another reality.
