Liverpool are nervously awaiting news on how quickly Mo Salah can return to action after he suffered an injury during Egypt's African Cup of Nations campaign.

The former Chelsea and Roma forward will be integral as Jurgen Klopp's men challenge for success on a number of fronts during the final months of the campaign - although he is far from the only injury concern being dealt with by the Reds boss at present.

With hopes high of success in the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Europa League, Klopp is hoping several players will return in the near future and play their part in what could be a truly memorable season at Anfield.

Ahead of Saturday's FA Cup fourth round home tie with Championship club Norwich City, we assess the latest injury issues facing the Reds.

Joel Matip

The Cameroon defender may well have played his last game for the club after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injured that has ended his season prematurely. Matip is not expected to return until September, by which time he will be out of contract.

A knee ligament injury kept Alexander-Arnold out of both legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham and Sunday's Premier League win at Bournemouth. There is some hope the England star could return for the game with Norwich but next week's home game against Chelsea seems to be a more realistic target.

Andrew Robertson

There was some positive news for Jurgen Klopp as Scotland international Robertson closes in on a return from a shoulder injury that has kept him on the sidelines since the 2-2 draw at Brighton and Hove Albion in October. The former Hull City man could return for the cup tie with Norwich.

Kontantinos Tsimikas

Much like Robertson, Tsimikas also suffered a shoulder injury earlier this season and underwent surgery to rectify the issue last month. The Greek left-back is making good progress in his recovery and is believed to be targeting the home game with Burnley in February for his comeback.

Stefan Bajcetic

The talented young midfielder has made just two appearances this season after featuring in a 3-1 Europa League win at LASK in September and a Carabao Cup win over Leicester City. A calf injury means Bajcetic remains on the sidelines and is not expected to return until late February at the earliest.

Thiago

Speaking of both Bajcetic and Thiago earlier this month, Reds boss Klopp ruled out a return for either player before the end of January. He said: "They will not be ready for the end of this month. It will probably be going into the next month to train with us. But both (with) no complications, progressing." Much like Bajcetic, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man will not return until the end of February.

Curtis Jones

There were some concerns Jones would miss the Norwich City tie but they were ruled out by Klopp when he confirmed the talented midfielder had trained ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg with Fulham. He said: "When you play more games and when you are constantly in the team since a long, long time, you get also some small niggles. He already reported during the week some tension in his hamstring tendon. But yesterday (there were) no issues, so he was clear."

Dominik Szoboszlai

The Hungary midfielder has been in impressive form since making a big money move to Anfield during the summer and has quickly become a key component of Klopp's side. There was some concern he would face a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury but he has returned to training and will be in contention for the Norwich game.

Mo Salah

The Reds legend suffered a hamstring tear during Egypt's 2-2 draw with Ghana and has returned to Merseyside to undergo an 'intensive rehabilitation programme' following an agreed between the club and the Egyptian FA. It is expected Salah will remain on the sidelines until next month with the visit to Brentford viewed as possible return target.
