Erling Haaland and Trent Alexander-Arnold news affecting FPL players
Erling Haaland: Pretty big news for anyone in need of a major differential for the closing weeks of the campaign – after returning to the bench last week against Wolves, Haaland is now back and “ready”, according to Pep Guardiola, although he did add that “if he'll start, we'll decide tomorrow."
Which isn’t all that helpful when it comes to deciding whether to take a gamble on three games of the game’s most expensive player – but our FPL expert did also write up a full breakdown of that decision, which you can read by clicking here.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: This one actually has nothing to do with an injury, and the Real Madrid-bound full-back is, so far as we know, fully fit – but Arne Slot has confirmed already that Conor Bradley will start against Arsenal on Sunday. If you’re one of the 17.2% of managers who has the Liverpool and England man in their teams, it sounds like it’s time to move on before he leaves Anfield in real life.

If you had him in your team still, it’s time to let him go.
Updates on Fabian Schär, Jørgen Strand Larsen, Murillo and more
Jørgen Strand Larsen: The summer signing has quietly been racking up the goals since Vitor Pereira took over and is looking like a rather handy budget enabler – but he faces a late fitness test prior to the game against Brighton on Saturday. He’s in full training, at least, so you’d expect that he has good odds to get some game time.
Murillo: Although not in quite so many teams as his defensive colleagues, Murillo is still a budget-friendly member of many back lines – and his owners may be frustrated to learn that he is a doubt this weekend due to an injury sustained against Crystal Palace on Monday. Nuno Espirito Santo said that the club will “assess” him tomorrow, but the Brazilian has only been in partial training for the past few days. Callum Hudson-Odoi is out.
Youri Tielemans: Although not in many teams as it stands, Tielemans’ recent form must mean quite a few managers have been considering adding him to their sides – a bad idea, however, as he is “not available” due to a “small issue”, according to Unai Emery, who thought that the Belgian should be back next week.

Hide AdFabian Schär: The Newcastle defender appeared to limp off towards the end of the 1-1 draw with Brighton last weekend, and while Eddie Howe didn’t directly discuss the Swiss centre-back’s situation in his press conference, he did mention having “a couple of players we are assessing”. One assumes that Schär is one of them, but with no clear-cut information it’s impossible to be sure whether he risks missing minutes. The yellow flag next to his name on the FPL app seems like a fair reflection of the situation.
Kaoru Mitoma: Good news for Brighton fans and for anyone who wanted to take a chance on the Japanese winger as a late-season differential – having missed last week’s match against Newcastle, Mitoma is “back on the pitch” and “an option” for Saturday’s game against Wolves. Sadly, Solly March won’t feature, as a knee injury has brought his season to a premature close. Georginio Rutter will miss this week’s action, as well.
Matthijs de Ligt: An injury sustained against Brentford last week ruled Dutchman De Ligt out of the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Club on Thursday and will put him out of action for the West Ham game this weekend, too, with Ruben Amorim confirming that his injury is serious enough to make the defender miss two matches. He could well be back for the game against Chelsea next week, at least. Amorim also appeared to confirm that Bruno Fernandes will play.
