Manchester United are back in European action this week when they face Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League.

The Red Devils need a win to keep the pressure on group leaders Real Sociedad heading into the final game of the group next week. Erik ten Hag’s men head into the Old Trafford clash on Thursday on the back of a dramatic draw with Chelsea last weekend.

Casemiro scored an equaliser four minutes into added time in West London to steal a point and United remain a point behind the Blues as a result. West Ham United are next up in the Premier League, but in the meantime, we have rounded up the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Red Devils.

January priorities

United are already said to have decided on their January transfer pirorities. It’s already clear Ten Hag needs more help if the club are to secure Champions League football for next season, and it seems there are two areas in particular the club are looking at.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, United are looking to sign a right-back, something they considered addressing in the summer, and they are also keen on landing a striker.

Plettenburg tweeted: “Main priority is to transfer a right-back in winter. Frimpong is one of the candidates as reported. Moreover United is looking for a talented striker. Market in South America is very interesting. Depending on De Gea is the search for a new goalkeeper.“

Schick interest

United are said to have scouted Bayer Leverkusen star Patrik Schick during Ralf Rangnick’s time at the club. According to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, Schick has previously been eyed, but there are no negotiations taking place between the clubs at present

“There’s some talk again of Patrik Schick being an option for Manchester United,” Romano said. “He was one of the players scouted under Ralf Rangnick, but now there are still no contacts ongoing. I think he’s very talented player, but needs to be more consistent; for sure, he could be a good option for many big clubs in the Premier League.”
