Manchester United will be hoping for a better 2025/26 season on the pitch

Manchester United will be heading Ruben Amorim’s first full season in charge this summer. The former Sporting Lisbon man was brought in earlier in this campaign. He was picked as their replacement for Erik ten Hag after catching their eye over in Portugal.

The Red Devils are currently sat in 13th place in the Premier League table with only seven fixtures left to play. They have the chance to bolster their ranks when the transfer window opens for business. The North West giants also have the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door should they wish to.

Manchester United new issued 1991 kit leaked

According to Footy Headlines on X, a new Adidas release shirt of United’s iconic 1991 kit has been leaked. The shirt has an identical design to the original. It is white with red pin stripes on the sleeves and on the collar.

The top was worn by the Red Devils as their third shirt during their 2-1 win over Barcelona in the 1990-91 Europan Cup Winners’ Cup. The match was held at Stadion Feijenoord in Rotterdam, Holland. They won 2-1 after two goals by Mark Hughes.

It was such an important victory for United as it secured their first European title for 23 years. It lay the foundations for the club to go on and win numerous trophies under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson. One Spanish newspaper wrote at the time: "The Red Devils came dressed in white, like angels.”

Ferguson has since said: "It was a major step forward, there's no doubt about that. “Sharpey [Lee Sharpe] was coming through, so was Giggsy [Ryan Giggs]. We had Sparky [Mark Hughes] and Choccy [Brian McClair], [Paul] Ince and [Bryan] Robson and, soon after, we bought Paul Parker, Andrei Kanchelskis and Peter Schmeichel. They were key signings that gave us a really strong group.”

It remains to be seen at this stage how reliable the leak is. If it is , the release date of the re-make hasn’t been disclosed yet. It would be a very popular jersey if it was made available for sale and Adidas would likely make a lot of money from sales.

Manchester United relationship with Adidas

This isn’t the first time Footy Headlines have leaked a United shirt this season with their 2025/26 away shirt being the subject of internet speculation after images were found. The Red Devils agreed a 10-year extension with Adidas back in 2023 running until 2033 and is worth a minimum of £900m making it the largest kit deal in Premier League history which has helped boost their finances.

Chief executive at the time, Richard Arnold, said: "The relationship between Manchester United and Adidas is one of the most iconic in world sport. With its roots in the 1980s, our partnership has been reinvented over the past decade with some of the most innovative designs and technology in sportswear."

Meanwhile, Adidas chief executive Bjorn Gulden said: "Adidas and Manchester United are two of the most important brands in international football and it is very natural for us to continue our co-operation."
