Manchester United and Spurs among suitors for €55m gem as Aston Villa consider selling two key players

The biggest new Premier League transfer rumours, with stories from Manchester United, Spurs, Aston Villa, West Ham and more.

It’s time for Friday’s round-up of the biggest (and often strangest) new Premier League transfer rumours – and we’re going to kick things off with a story which suggests that at least three Premier League teams are interested in a player who was in Champions League action this week.

Caught Offside claim that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are all “among the main transfer suitors” for Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck, who is a regular under Simone Inzaghi and was on the team sheet for the thrilling 3-3 draw with Barcelona on Wednesday evening.

Despite his importance to Inter, however, he is “available” for a fee of around €55m (£46.6m), according to the report, with Inter happy to turn what would represent a pretty huge profit on the German international.

It turns out that three Premier League clubs keeping an eye on him are maintaining a watching brief for now, with no contact made between parties and no offers made as yet – and it isn’t clear that Bisseck would be keen on a move, either.

The 3AM Verdict: There’s so little real detail in this report that we can’t help but be a little sceptical – but Inter are generally a club who sell when big money is on the table, and the 24-year-old could well be a big upgrade for any of the teams mentioned. This report feels more like conjecture to us, though.

Aston Villa could sell academy star and key starter this summer

News from Villa Park, now. Apparently, Aston Villa could be gearing up for the departure of two important first-team players this summer – a world-class international and a star academy product – with TBR Football suggesting it has the scoop on Villa’s summer plans.

It’s claimed that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all hold interest in midfielder Jacob Ramsey, but that the Villans have yet to decide whether to cash in on their home-grown player – but Unai Emery is reportedly “ready” to sanction the sale of Emiliano Martínez.

The Argentine goalkeeper and two-time Yashin Trophy winner has struggled this season, at least by his high standards, and that has left Villa “ready to sell” the 32-year-old amid interest from the Saudi Pro League. No word on how much Martínez might go for, but the player himself is said to be interested.

The 3AM Verdict: It’s a bold move to jettison a proven star player, even after a dodgy season, but no doubt the Saudis will pay top dollar, so perhaps it’s worth it. Ramsey will present a trickier decision, given that he’s in and out of the side, often due to injuries. No word on what his supposed suitors might offer, which makes this report tough to assess.

Brentford make ‘concrete move’ for £17m man

Finally, a story from Brentford courtesy of Sport Witness, who have picked up on reports in Italy which claim that the Bees have made a “concrete move” for Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup.

Not that Brentford making a firm offer guarantees that they’ll get their man. A host of Serie A sides, including AC Milan, Juventus and Atalanta, are all said to have at least some interest in the 24-year-old Denmark international – but it’s Thomas Frank’s team that are “pressing hard” to sign him.

Apparently an offer of €20m (around £17m) would be enough for Genoa’s hand to be forced into a sale, but they’ve supposedly made it clear that “there won’t be any discounts” for one of their star players.

The 3AM Verdict: While the Serie A sides probably hold more appeal than Brentford for the average player, this could be where the Premier League’s financial might comes into play – not that Brentford are among the big spenders of the league. A difficult deal to get done, but we believe this story to be true enough, having seen reports from Italy connecting Brentford with Frendrup before.
