Rashford, Varane, Martial: Man Utd injury list & expected return dates ahead of Burnley clash
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday night with a 4-2 victory over struggling Sheffield United, and will be looking to build on that success with another positive result against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils left it late to secure all three points against the Blades, scoring twice in the last 10 minutes to ensure that they stayed sixth in the Premier League table with five games left to play. European qualification still seems like a realistic aim for Erik ten Hag’s side, although it remains to be seen which continental competition they are most likely to land in next season.

Hide AdAs for Burnley, time is running out for them to enact a great escape. The Clarets are three points adrift of safety with four games left to play, but have shown improved form of late, and have lost just one of their past five top flight outings.
But how are United likely to line up against them at the weekend? We’ve taken a closer look at their latest absentee list, as well as any potential return dates where possible, below...
Anthony Martial
Martial underwent groin surgery at the end of January, and had initially been slated for a comeback this month. Now, however, it would appear that he might have played his final game for United already. Speaking recently, Ten Hag said: 'I don't know [if he will play again before his contract expires]. He's still with the medical [department]. He's out on the pitch, but if he will be available, I don't know.'
Luke Shaw
In better news, there is a sense of optimism that Shaw should be able to make his return from a thigh problem before the end of the campaign. Speaking late last month, Ten Hag said: ‘That is the plan, and he is still on schedule for this. He will return into our team.'

Hide AdTyrell Malacia
Fellow left-back Malacia might not be so fortunate, however. The Dutchman has been plagued by setbacks during his rehabilitation from a knee issue, and is not expected back until later in the summer. Addressing his absence, Ten Hag said: 'It's going to be difficult for him this season to be available. He will fight. He's back on the pitch, but not in the team and the process had setbacks. He's going forwards really slowly.'
Lisandro Martinez
Martinez still appears to be a little way off full fitness following a calf strain. Early May seems to be a realistic target date.
Victor Lindelof
Yet another defensive concern for United, Lindelof was withdrawn against Brentford last month and has not been seen since. Like Martinez, it could be May before he is back.
Jonny Evans
Evans is battling a ‘short-term muscle issue’, and will face a late assessment ahead of the Burnley match. By no means nailed on to feature, but more likely than some on this list.

Hide AdRaphael Varane
United’s defensive injury woes continue. Varane suffered a muscular complaint against Chelsea, and it is unclear at this stage whether he is any closer to match fitness or not.
Mason Mount
Mount’s nightmare debut season in Manchester has been beset with injury, and the midfielder is currently sidelined with a muscular problem.
Marcus Rashford
Rashford was considered ‘doubtful’ for the win over Sheffield United, and having missed out on that fixture, should be back in contention against Burnley following an ankle injury.
