Toon target in ‘advanced talks’

Reported Newcastle United target Radu Dragusin is in ‘advanced talks’ over a potential move to the Premier League, according to the player’s agent. The Genoa defender, who is also said to be attracting attention from the likes of Tottenham and Crystal Palace, is valued at around £35 million by his current employers, but could be on his way to England - provided this latest update is to be believed.

Speaking to Eurosport, his representative, Florin Manea, said: “There are already advanced talks with several Premier League clubs. Genoa want between 35 and 40 million euros. We’ll see in the winter what could happen. We could agree the transfer [in January] but continue with Genoa until the summer. For Radu it is now important to play match after match in Genoa, in Serie A, after the 45 matches in which he started last year.”

The 3AM Verdict: Of the teams linked with Dragusin, Newcastle surely feels like the most likely destination. Not only do the Magpies have the funds to outbid their rivals if they see fit, but it felt like a genuine surprise that they didn’t make more of an effort to reinforce their defence during the summer transfer window that has just passed. One to keep an eye on, perhaps.

Arsenal track Nusa

Premier League title hopefuls Arsenal will reportedly send scouts to Belgium to scout Club Brugge attacker Antonio Nusa during his side’s Europa Conference League clash against Besiktas on Thursday evening. According to The Express, the Gunners will have staff in attendance to watch the 18-year-old, who has already recorded five goals involvements in 11 appearances across all competitions this term.

Nusa was supposedly the subject of a rejected £23 million bid from Chelsea in August, and is already a senior Norway international.

The 3AM Verdict: Nusa feels like a real prospect. To be the age he is and to already be displaying such quality would suggest that he has a big, big future ahead of him, and if he continues on his current trajectory then he is only going to be come more in-demand - and expensive - in years to come. With that in mind, if Arsenal could snap him up now, not only would they be securing themselves a huge talent, but they could also be saving themselves a considerable fortune too.

Elvedi release clause revealed

And finally, Wolves could be handed the chance to sign reported transfer target Nico Elvedi for a cut-price fee of around £8.7 million, according to German outlet Bild. The Borussia Monchengladbach came within a whisker of joining Wanderers over the summer, only for Gary O’Neil’s side to pull out due to monetary issues.

Since then, however, Elvedi has put pen to paper on a new deal with his current employers, and it is understood that his contract now includes a relatively affordable release clause. The understanding is that Monchengladbach are still open to selling the Swiss centre-back, but were unwilling to lose him on a free transfer next year, and as such, have tied him down for their own financial security.

The 3AM Verdict: This sounds promising for Wolves. Despite Elvedi’s new contract, he is still evidently available for a transfer, and now, if nothing else, they know exactly how much they will have to pay to prise him away from his current employers. Whether it be in January, or next summer, there is surely a deal here to be done - provided Wanderers still want it.
