Football Manager 2024 predicts how the remainder of the summer transfer window could play out for QPR.

Marti Cifuentes has already been active in the transfer market as he prepares his Queens Park Rangers squad for the new Championship season.

The likes of Sinclair Armstrong, Chris Willock and Jordan Archer have all moved on in recent weeks but the Spanish boss has moved quickly to add to his ranks following their departures. Rangers have concluded deals for Lugano striker Zan Celar and Sporting Gijon midfielder Jonathan Varane as well as free transfer moves for French goalkeeper Paul Nardi and Brazilian full-back Hevertton. Centre-back Liam Harrison and winger Daniel Bennie has also moved to Loftus Road from FC Bayern II and Perth Glory respectively.

But what other business could Cifuentes conduct between now and the end of this month when the summer transfer window comes to a close. We fire up Football Manager 2024 to see how the world’s most popular managerial simulation believes the next four weeks will play out.

Goalkeepers

There were no further departures in the Rangers goalkeeping ranks but a familiar face did return to provide competition in the race for become Cifuentes number one stopper. That came in the form of Joe Lumley, who returned to the club from Southampton in a £750,000 deal almost three years after departed for Middlesbrough.

There was one big departure in the defensive ranks as left-back Morgan Fox joined Scottish Premiership club Hearts in a £2.7m deal in the final week of the window. There were defensive reinforcements as Tommy Smith arrived from Middlesbrough in a £500,000 deal and Cifuentes also snapped up Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alfie Dorrington on a season-long loan deal.

Midfielders

Cifuentes retained faith with the midfield options and added a new option in the middle of the park after completing a free transfer move for former Rangers, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers star John Fleck.

It was a case of two out and one in at the top end of the pitch as Cifuentes moved for another free agent. This time it was former Hull City forward Aaron Connolly that was secured after Rangers saw off competition from a whole host of their Championship rivals to land the nine-times capped Republic of Ireland international. He will help replace Swiss striker Michael Frey after he joined Lausanne in a £700,000 and young winger Rayan Kolli, who agreed a season-long loan with Bristol Rovers.
