The festive period has been somewhat mixed for Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur after they followed up a 2-1 home win against Everton with a defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion on Thursday night.
Spurs were already four goals down to a rampant Seagulls side when Alejo Veliz and Ben Davies scored in the last ten minutes of the game to spark some hope of an unlikely comeback that failed to come to fruition.

The result left Postecoglou's men sat one point and one place outside of the Champions League spots - but there are still high hopes a positive second half of the season lies in wait as several players edge closer to full fitness.
The immediate focus will be on Sunday's home clash with Bournemouth as Spurs look to bring a successful end of 12 months of change by claiming all three points against the Cherries and putting in place the foundations for a more positive January. Ahead of the game, we look at the latest team news and injury updates as Postecoglou's lengthy list of absentees continues to cause serious issues for the Spurs boss.
Tottenham Hotspur Team News
Postecoglou continues to battle with a lengthy injury list that has robbed him of the services of over £200m worth of players - although there should be some good news for the former Celtic manager in the new year.
One player that is highly unlikely to feature again this season is Ivan Perisic after the Croatian international suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury during a non-contact training session. Yves Bissouma will also miss the meeting with the Cherries as he continues to serve a suspension for the red card he received in the recent 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest.

Defensive duo Christian Romero and Micky van de Ven are not expected to return until the new year as they continue their comebacks from thigh injuries and the same can be said of Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon, James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur. However, there should be one player back in the Spurs squad after Postecoglou confirmed midfielder Oliver Skipp should be available after he missed the defeat against Brighton.
Vicario, Porro, Emerson Royal, Davies, Udogie, Sarr, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Kulusevski, Son, Richarlison
