We begin Wednesday's Premier League transfer rumour round-up with news of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and his immediate future on Tyneside. According to a report from TNT Sports journalist Marcelo Bechler, the Brazilian remains a target for French giants Paris Saint-Germain, but the likelihood is that a deal will not materialise this month.

It is claimed that PSG have decided to 'step back' from their pursuit of Guimaraes, and will instead be patient with any potential approach for the Toon talisman. Financial Fair Play continues to be a determining factor in the club's January plans, and is likely to prevent them from making a move until the summer, at least.

The 3AM Verdict: This will be music to the ears of Newcastle United supporters, who will be fully aware of just how integral Guimaraes is to their side, and their ambitions this season, writ large. It is unsurprising that the Brazilian is attracting attention from one of the biggest clubs in Europe, but if the Magpies are serious about asserting themselves at a similar kind of level, then they cannot afford to sell off their best players.

Dragusin closing in on Spurs switch

Elsewhere, it's another day, another update on Tottenham's pursuit of Radu Dragusin. The Genoa defender is understood to be a key target for Spurs this winter, and is widely expected to leave his current employers for a fee of around £26 million, one way or another.

To that end, journalist Rudy Galetti reports that the Romanian is 'on his way' to London ahead of a prospective transfer, with a medical planned for later in the week. As such, a deal could be completed and finalised in the coming days.

The 3AM Verdict: We've spoken about Dragusin in this column before, but it is worth reiterating that this feels like a smart move from Spurs. They need defensive reinforcements desperately, and the 21-year-old is exactly the kind of player who can bolster their back line now, while also serving them well for years to come. At £26 million or so, he could be a steal.

Hannibal agrees exit

And finally, Spanish outlet AS suggest that Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has agreed to an exit from Old Trafford this month, with Sevilla keen on the 20-year-old talent.

It is understood that the Tunisia international has already 'said yes' to the La Liga side as he looks to secure greater first team opportunities, having played less than 100 minutes of senior football for the Red Devils this season. Erik ten Hag is 'reluctant' to let the player leave before the end of the transfer window, however, meaning that Hannibal's prospective exit is far from concrete.

The 3AM Verdict: This is an interesting one. On the face of it, Hannibal is struggling to make much of an impact at Old Trafford, but evidently, if Ten Hag is attempting to block his exit, it would suggest that the manager does see some kind of worthwhile potential in the player. Whether or not that translates to more frequent first team minutes into the near future, however, remains to be seen.
