We begin Friday's Premier League transfer rumour round-up with an update from Bild, who claim that RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo has emerged as a target for Tottenham Hotspur. The Spain international struggled with injury for most of the early part of the current campaign, but has shown good form since returning to fitness, hitting seven goals and four assists in 19 outings.

It is understood that Olmo's current deal in Germany lasts until 2027, but Bild state ‘he can leave in the summer’ as a result of his £51.3 million release clause. That figure is seen as a ‘bargain for top clubs’, with Spurs cited as potential suitors, alongside the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The 3AM Verdict: Olmo is undoubtedly a top tier attacking talent, and exactly the sort of player who could elevate Tottenham towards the role of perennial silverware challengers. At £51.3 million, he would cost a fair amount, but there is no questioning his pedigree. It just remains to be seen whether Tottenham can actually mix it with the likes of Real Madrid and Barca in the transfer market.

Newcastle eye Dumfries

Elsewhere, according to InterLive.it, Newcastle United have identified Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries as a potential summer target. The Dutchman is out of contract at the San Siro in 2025, and is understood to be demanding around £4.7 million to pen a fresh deal in Italy. That figure is considerably more than Inter are reportedly willing to pay.

As such, Dumfries could be available, and at a cut-price fee too. It is claimed that Newcastle were initially hoping to include Emil Krafth in any prospective agreement, but Inter have made it clear that they would much prefer a cash-only proposal.

The 3AM Verdict: Do Newcastle United really need another right-back? Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento would suggest they do not, but there is no denying that a cheap deal for Dumfries represents something of a no-brainer. The Dutchman is a top quality attacking full-back who has been linked with a move to England for some time now, and if the Magpies feel he is a necessary acquisition, and can lure him to Tyneside for a reasonable price, then best of luck to them.

United want rid of Van de Beek

And finally, Manchester United are ‘keen to sell’ Donny van de Beek during the summer transfer window, with a return to former club Ajax potentially on the cards for the Dutchman. The midfielder has endured a miserable stint at Old Trafford, and is currently out on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.

It is understood that the Red Devils are eager to seal his permanent exit in the coming months, however, with Soccer News claiming that they have set an asking price of just £8.6 million - although even that fee would have some room for negotiation.

The 3AM Verdict: The sooner Van de Beek leaves United on a permanent transfer, the better for everybody involved. The midfielder has suffered a torrid spell in England, and is in desperate need of a fresh start elsewhere. As for United themselves, at this stage, recouping any fee for the player would be better than nothing. Time for all concerned to move on with their lives.
