More worryingly, the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea and Manchester United are all hoping to take advantage of Spurs dip in form over the next week as the race for Europe approaches its climax. Postecoglou’s plans are not helped by several key absentees from his squad ahead of home games with Burnley and Manchester City, as well as the season-ending visit to already relegated Sheffield United - but when will Spurs injured stars return to contention?
Fraser Forster
Forster’s involvement during the season has been limited to just one appearances as Postecoglou’s side exited the Carabao Cup with a penalty shoot-out defeat in a second round tie at Premier League rivals Fulham way back in August. Although the England goalkeeper has been an unused substitute on 26 occasions, an ankle injury means he has not appeared in a matchday squad since February. Expected return date: June 2024.

Sessegnon can count himself extremely unfortunate to have seen his season decimated by injuries. The former Fulham star has made just one appearance after coming off the bench as a late substitute in a 1-0 win in an FA Cup third round tie against Burnley in January. However, a hamstring injury brought a premature end to his campaign and he will now focus on being ready for the new season. Expected return date: June 2024.
Manor Solomon
There was much excitement when Spurs completed the signing of the former Fulham loan star last summer and he showed some signs of living up to that hype during his first two months with the club. However, a meniscus injury means he has not appeared since the 2-1 home win against Liverpool in September. Expected return date: June 2024.
Ben Davies
The experienced defender has endured a mixed season but one that has seen the Wales international make just three appearances in the Premier League since the turn of the year. After starting the recent North London derby defeat against Arsenal, Davies is now unlikely to feature for the remainder of the season after he suffered a calf issue. Expected return date: June 2024.

The three-times capped Italy international has shown some real signs of proving why Spurs are so excited about his potential during the season. His ability to get forward from left-back proved effective during the first half of the season - but his involvement in the campaign has been cut short after a hamstring injury left his to focus on returning to full fitness for pre-season. Expected return date: June 2024.
Timo Werner
There was some surprise when Spurs took the former Chelsea forward on loan from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in January - and he has had mixed fortunes since returning to the capital. The Germany international has scored two goals and provided three assists in 14 appearances in all competitions - but his long-term future is now unknown after he suffered a thigh injury that has ended his season. Expected return date: June 2024.
