West Ham are finally catching up with the transfer market as they close in on some brilliant transfers.

Julen Lopetegui is finally getting hold of the signings he craved all summer, and they are signings that have the potential to define the style of play he wants to deploy at the club and could form the foundation on which the club’s success is built next season.

Niclas Füllkrug, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Crysencio Summerville are all closing in on deals this summer to freshen up the squad and generate competition within the team. The exciting thing about these signings is that they have all the ingredients to make the squad better and get West Ham fighting higher up the table.

For example, Summerville provides the youth and dynamism that West Ham have lacked under David Moyes. The 22-year-old already has all the tools to be a top player for the Hammers, and he can play in different positions, so he fits in straight away and can do a job.

Wan-Bissaka, on his day, is one of the best natural defenders in the game, and he instantly improves the solidity of West Ham’s defence. He also adds some much needed steel to the back line and is one of the players you want in your team when defending deep and playing against fast wingers.

3 Added Minutes have been told that the former Crystal Palace defender had other interest, but he had a phone call with the new West Ham manager, who is reportedly surprised that he’s consistently been overlooked by the English team and will work to ensure he at least gets back into the discussions for earning a place in the Three Lions set-up. When the right-back was coming through at Crystal Palace, he was tipped to be an established England international, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on in east London.

Finally, Füllkrug addresses a crucial need in the team: he adds goals but is also a pressing machine. He played in the Champions League final last season and scored two goals for Germany at the Euros in five games. Beyond that, he has stellar and valuable playing experience, featuring for teams such Hannover and Werder Bremen before arriving at Dortmund. He could be very good for the dressing room going forward. West Ham need to be incredibly consistent, and having an established international like Füllkrug could be the way for Lopetegui to change things. You sense he’s exactly the kind of character who will become beloved by the Hammers faithful, too.

The acquisitions of Niclas Füllkrug, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Crysencio Summerville would significantly improve West Ham United, addressing critical areas of need and enhancing the team's overall quality and depth. Additionally, they give the new manager exactly the kind of firepower and resilience he needs to get the ball rolling. The current squad was put together by Moyes, so it’s only natural to give the new manager tools the players he needs to stamp his authority on the side. If the Hammers are successful in acquiring all three targets, a return to European football is far from out of the question.
