West Ham will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their Europa League exit at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen in midweek when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon. The Hammers are still in the chase for European qualification this season, but will be fully aware that anything other than a win could seriously dent their chances of playing on the continent next term.

For their part, Palace 14th in the table, eight points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand on many of the sides around them. Last weekend, the Eagles picked up a shock victory over title-chasing Liverpool at Anfield to record their first win in five top flight outings.

But how will both sides line up at Selhurst Park on Sunday? We’ve taken a closer look at their respective team news and predicted XIs below...

West Ham Team News

West Ham could have a number of absences to contend with this weekend. Manchester City loanee Kalvin Phillips will face a late assessment after picking up a hamstring injury in training last week, with manager David Moyes saying: 'He kicked the back of someone's leg in training, and we think he's just tweaked a bit of a lower hamstring at the back of his knee. I don't think it'll be long-term.'

Elsewhere, Konstantinos Mavropanos could return from a slight knock, while first choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola could be in contention to feature following a minor groin issue. Speaking earlier this month, Moyes said: 'He has a tweak to his groin. We hope it's not going to be too long, but we'll have to wait and see.'

The Irons’ only other likely absences are defender Nayef Aguerd, who is struggling with an ankle complaint, and teenage midfielder George Earthy, who sustained a head injury against Fulham last weekend.

Crystal Palace Team News

As for Palace, they continue to struggle with a number of notable first team absences. Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is out for the season following elbow surgery, while defensive duo Marc Guehi and Rob Holding are both set to be sidelined until May. Speaking about the former, manager Oliver Glasner said: 'I can’t say when [he will return], but he’s working hard. It’s a week where we have three games, so maybe it's the week after, but we hope, at the latest, vs Manchester United.'

Elsewhere, Cheick Doucoure is another who is expected to miss the rest of the campaign, while there is no concrete date set for the return of Brazilian attacker Matheus Franca. Speaking recently, Glasner said: 'Matheus has a problem with his groin. It's a little bit more difficult because when we increase the intensity of his training, he gets pain again. I cannot tell exactly when he will be back.'

In better news, Chris Richards and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi could both be back in time to face Fulham next weekend.

Crystal Palace Predicted XI

Dean Henderson; Nataniel Clyne, Joachim Andersen, Jefferson Lerma; Daniel Muñoz, Adam Wharton, Will Hughes, Tyrick Mitchell; Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eberechi Eze.
