West Ham's next manager identified as Arsenal hand Liverpool major transfer boost

Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter has been suggested as a possible replacement for West Ham United boss David Moyes.

The Scot has enjoyed a successful four-year reign at the London Stadium after leading the Hammers to their historic Europa Conference League Final win over Fiorentina last season. However, there have been some doubts over his long-term future with the club and Potter has been named as a possible successor by one former Premier League star.

Former Sunderland and Aston Villa striker Darren Bent told talkSPORT: “It would be interesting to see what type of manager they do want because I think Potter would be a great fit. With the players they’ve got, he would be an absolutely unbelievable fit.”

The 3AM Verdict: It seems very premature to have talk of Moyes departing giving the job he has done at West Ham. Although there is no question Potter would be a strong replacement, the current manager needs more time to mould a new look Hammers side following the departure of Declan Rice.

Arsenal opt against move for Liverpool target

Arsenal have dropped out of the race to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre after watching him in action over the weekend.

Brazilian outlet UOL have claimed Gunners manager ‘closely watched’ the highly rated midfielder in recent months and the Premier League title were represented at the Copa Libertadores Final on Saturday.

However, the report also states Arsenal will ‘work with other options’ as Arteta looks to boost his options in the middle of the part and that could lead to a rekindling of his interest in Luiz, who has been integral in Villa’s impressive start to the campaign.

The 3AM Verdict: “It seems a matter of time before Andre’s unquestionable talent is tested in European football as his lengthy list of admirers continues to grow. However, Arteta’s preference for proven Premier League talent means it is understandable why he may look to move for the in-form Luiz.”

Premier League trio ‘probe’ move for La Liga prospect

Three Premier League clubs are said to have ‘probed the possibility’ of signing Real Betis youngster Assane Diao.

The 18-year-old winger has enjoyed a stunning introduction into life with the La Liga club’s first-team by scoring four goals in ten games in all competitions so far this season and he has rapidly become one of the most promising talents in Spain’s top tier.

Speaking on the winger’s development at a senior level, Betis sporting director Ramon Planes said: “He is a footballer with a great room for improvement.

“He has a lot of room for improvement. It has even been seen in the two games he has played with Betis. We already saw it in his evolution in the youth team when we incorporated him.

Spanish outlet Mucho Deporte have claimed the youngster’s progress has captured the attention of Newcastle United, Liverpool and Chelsea, who could look to take advantage of the £13m release clause in Diao’s current contract.

The report suggests the La Liga club are keen to end any doubt over Diao’s future by offering the winger a new deal and double the buy-out clause in any new contract.

The 3AM Verdict: Diao has certainly made an impression during his first three months in the senior setup at Betis and he looks a very exciting prospect. Yet there is still a feeling that he has some way to go to prove he is capable of making an impact on a consistent basis and really proving himself at the highest level.
