We begin Thursday's Premier League transfer rumour round-up with an update on Kalvin Phillips' future at Manchester City. After falling squarely out of favour at the Etihad, the England international is expected to part company with the champions in January, and it is understood that he is attracting plenty of attention from Italian giants Juventus.

In fact, TuttoJuve suggest that the Turin side are considering a concrete offer for the 27-year-old, but that they could also face 'stiff competition' from Newcastle United. It is claimed that City are eager to offload Phillips to the 'highest bidder' and at the time of writing, the Magpies are said to be the club in pole position for his signature.

The 3AM Verdict: Wherever Phillips ends up, it sounds as if he is going to be signing for a club of real quality. Obviously, our focus in this daily round-up is on the Premier League, and to that end, Newcastle could do far, far worse in their hunt for a Sandro Tonali replacement than enacting a swoop for the former Leeds United man. A superlative distributor with a knack for breaking up play, Phillips would be an asset to just about any midfield.

Wolves eye Amad

Elsewhere, Wolves are understood to have made a tentative approach to Manchester United over the prospect of signing promising attacker Amad Diallo. According to Football Transfers, Gary O'Neil's men have contacted the Red Devils with regards to a potential January deal.

The Ivorian is yet to make a competitive appearance for United this season after sustaining a serious knee injury in preseason, and could be allowed to leave the club temporarily in an effort to hand him greater first team experience. Diallo spent last season on loan in the Championship with Sunderland, to great effect.

The 3AM Verdict: This could prove to be a masterstroke from Wolves. Not only is Diallo a huge young talent, but there is also the very real possibility that Pedro Neto could be the subject of serious transfer interest in the coming months. If the forward does leave Molineux a replacement will have to be found, and in that instance, Diallo could very well be the man to step up to the plate.

Chelsea in for Osimhen

And finally, Chelsea are said to be 'increasing pressure' on Napoli as they look to lure Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge in the near future. The Nigerian is currently in the midst of contract talks with the Italian champions, but as discussions stall, the Blues have upped the frequency with which they are enquiring about the 24-year-old, as per Caught Offside.

It is understood that Napoli are flatly refusing to sell their forward, who they value at around £130 million, in January, but Chelsea are eager to do the leg work ahead of a possible summer swoop now.

The 3AM Verdict: There is no denying that Osimhen is currently one of the best strikers in world football, and if Chelsea could somehow secure a deal for the Nigerian it would represent a monstrous coup. Whether Napoli's resolve will soften any as contract talks drag on remains to be seen, but there is certainly no harm in Chelsea casting their net.
