The Nottingham Forest injury news and potential return dates ahead of their Premier League game against Leicester.

Nottingham Forest are flying. They showed against Crystal Palace that they are more than just a team enjoying good moments; they have grown and can win games even when they are not playing well. They did so without their manager, Nuno Espírito Santo, who has been suspended for the game, and also without their key player, Morgan Gibbs-White.

This weekend’s game will be even more emotional as they face Steve Cooper, the man who engineered their long-awaited return to the Premier League. Many of the players on the team have a connection to Cooper, who led them from the brink of relegation to becoming a Premier League side, and they have managed to stay there.

The fans will also be deeply invested, as they felt the strongest connection with Cooper during his time at the club. Ahead of a game that should provide further insight into how good the Tricky Trees are, here is a list of their injured players and potential return dates:

Morgan Gibbs-White

He picked up a worrying injury against Chelsea and missed the Crystal Palace game. Manager Nuno admitted that his progress is good, even though they have to take it one step at a time. He said: “It is a day-by-day process, so let’s see how he is. He is better today, so let’s hope he is even better tomorrow and keeps progressing.”

Potential return date: 25/10/2024.

Ibrahim Sangare

He suffered a thigh injury, and the manager has said he will be out for a while. He is expected to return after the November international break.

Potential return date: 23/11/2024

James Ward-Prowse

Danilo has an ankle injury and will not play again this year. It’s a massive blow for Nuno, but they have handled his absence very well so far.

Potential return date: 1/1/2025.
