The latest FPL injury updates, including news on William Saliba, Cole Palmer, Jarrod Bowen and more.

We’ve got less than 24 hours until the next Fantasy Premier League deadline, and as always we’re here to help players out by scouring the latest news reports and listening in to the managers’ press conferences to figure out who’s injured and who might play.

William Saliba, Cole Palmer and Jarrod Bowen are among the popular fantasy assets handling potential fitness concerns ahead of this weekend’s action, and we’ve got all the latest updates on their conditions below alongside many other players who may well be in your squad - our out of it, depending on just how injured they are.

William Saliba

One of the best defensive assets in the game missed out on minutes last week thanks to a hamstring injury that was, rather typically, kept quiet prior to the match – but Saliba might be back this weekend, at least.

Mikel Arteta told the media that he would be the subject of a meeting with the medical staff and that the club “will see” if he can play against Wolves tomorrow. He will definitely be back the following week, apparently, but trusting Arteta to tell the whole, unvarnished truth about injuries is rather naïve at this point.

Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill & Enzo Fernández

Cole Palmer was a major doubt for last Monday’s game against Wolves, but pulled through in the end – though it may worry his many owners to know that he came up in Enzo Maresca’s press conference once more this Friday. Apparently, it required an “unbelievable effort” for him to play last week and there was a suggestion that he still isn’t 100% fit, but he is “getting better”. We suspect he’s OK to play a full role, but there’s always some chance that he could be subbed out if Chelsea are winning should he still have a knock.

Meanwhile, there’s good news for owners of two of Chelsea’s cheaper assets – Maresca said that they would “probably” be ready to face Manchester City this weekend after missing out on the 3-1 win over Wolves. Which only leaves the question as to which City side will turn up at the Etihad to face them… Roméo Lavia won’t be back in time for this weekend, but it’s a very niche subsection of FPL players who are worrying about that.

Jarrod Bowen

The West Ham winger has missed the last three league games but is closing in on a return – but Graham Potter said that it was too early to say whether he would feature on Sunday. Bowen has been training with the main group this week but has only had one or two sessions and will be assessed before the next match. We suspect he will play, but is unlikely to get a full 90 minutes, so purchase with caution.

Nouassir Mazraoui

The United full-back remains in over 10% of FPL squads but is a risk this weekend after he was left out of the squad for the Europa League win over Rangers in midweek. He picked up a “minor injury”, according to the Manchester Evening News, and as is often the case with fitness issues at Old Trafford, details are very thin on the ground. Ruben Amorim’s men play Fulham on Sunday, and it’s not clear whether Mazraoui will play – and there were no updates in the manager’s press conference, which might be good news.

Ibrahima Konaté

The French centre-half was rested for the game against Lille in midweek, apparently because he is enduring “some pain in his knee” but there’s no cause for alarm if you see his name come up elsewhere – it’s “safe for him to play”. Arne Slot has suggested that Konaté’s workload will be managed this season, however, so there is an implication that he could be rested, seemingly out of the blue, for the odd game. They do seem to be prioritising the Premier League with their selections so far, however.

Nick Pope

Plenty of players sign Pope when he’s fit and quite a few bough Martin Dúbravka during his injury this season – but looks like it’s time to sell the Slovakian and re-sign the former Burnley man. Eddie Howe said that there was “a chance he’ll be in the squad” having trained with the first team during the week. Whether he starts immediately or not is unclear, but it looks like white smoke will rise above St. James’ Park before too long.

Dwight McNeil

The Everton winger’s popularity as a budget midfield enabler has declined in recent weeks, and it looks like players won’t be signing him any time soon – after wrestling with a niggling knee injury recently, McNeil may now require surgery, according to new-ish manager David Moyes. He will be sent to a specialist for a final opinion, but certainly won’t play this weekend.
