We begin Tuesday's Premier League transfer rumour round-up with an update from Italy, and specifically, AC Milan's efforts to prise Trevor Chalobah away from Chelsea this month. The centre-back has struggled with injury this season, but is back to full fitness, and could be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming days.

These developments have seemingly piqued interest in Milan, with suggestions that Stefano Piolo's side are now embroiled in a 'sprint' to get a deal over the line. AC Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport, may even go as far as sending officials to London this week in an effort to push through an agreement.

The 3AM Verdict: This could be a deal that makes sense for all parties. Chalobah will presumably struggle for regular game time in West London during the second part of the season, Chelsea could do with freeing up some space in the dressing room, and AC Milan are evidently in the market for a new defender. This is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Spurs plot Szymański raid

Elsewhere, Tottenham are said to be willing to do 'everything possible' to complete a deal for Fenerbahçe talent Sebastian Szymański, according to a report from Star Gazetesi. The attacking midfielder has registered 12 goals and 14 assists in 33 outings this season, and is understood to be valued at around £30 million by his current employers.

Spurs have no intention of paying that much for the 24-year-old, but are 'very keen' on acquiring his services. Szymański is a Poland international, and is under contract in Turkey until 2027.

The 3AM Verdict: It's hard to argue with Szymański's stats, or with the quality of Spurs' recruitment since Ange Postecoglou came into the club. If Tottenham are able to drive down that £30 million price tag any, this could prove to be a very good deal for the Premier League club.

Uzun price named

And finally, reported Brighton and Everton target Can Uzun could cost either club as much as £8.5 million in the summer transfer window, according to an update from Bild. The attacker is currently on the books at German second tier outfit FC Nurnberg, and has been in electric form this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting three more in 18 outings.

Still only 18, Uzun is understandably attracting attention from several top tier continental sides, including Bayern Munich, who could go head-to-head with any interested Premier League suitors. The Turkish youth international is under contract in Germany until 2027, and for the time being, has stated that he is solely focused on the task at hand for his current employers.

Speaking recently, he said: “It’s good when people talk about me and I want it to stay that way. But you can’t even think about something like that on the pitch. You can only focus on what is happening on the pitch now. As I said, I’m focusing entirely on now and the season with Nürnberg. And we’ll see the rest at the end of the season.”

The 3AM Verdict: What a wonderful gem Uzun could turn out to be. Given his age and his obvious talent, it is no surprise that he is attracting such high-profile attention, and if he can make good on his potential, then that £8.5 million may end up being something of a steal.
