Premier League teams have just days to conclude their transfer business with the summer window closing on Friday, August 30. It’s been a relatively quiet summer up and down the country, barring the odd move, but things are expected to heat up next week as the need for signings becomes more desperate.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are among the teams hoping to bring top-quality talent through the door but nerves will be tested as the deadline closes in. It’s set to be a busy and intriguing week up and down the country and we’ve rounded up some of the latest Premier League transfer stories below.

Sancho price-tag

Manchester United are open to selling Jadon Sancho before the window closes but are yet to receive an offer that meets their valuation. The Athletic claim Old Trafford chiefs want around £40m for the winger and would only be open to another loan if it suits them financially, with a significant loan fee and obligation to buy wanted.

Sancho remains of interest to Serie A side Juventus who are thought to be in talks over a possible move, although it is unclear whether they will be able to match that £40m price-tag. The 23-year-old travelled down to Brighton with his teammates on Saturday but was left out of the matchday squad by manager Erik ten Hag.

Kvaratskhelia links

Liverpool have been linked with a ‘sensational’ late-summer move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia but Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on recent reports. The transfer journalist insists he has heard nothing of the links, with Napoli keen to keep hold of their Georgian star.

“Today, we had reports in England of Liverpool preparing a crazy proposal for Kvaratskhelia and trying a sensational move,” Romano said on his YouTube channel. “I have zero confirmation on Kvaratskhelia and Liverpool. Napoli have always been clear – they trust him and want to continue with him under Antonio Conte. There is nothing ongoing with Liverpool and Kvaratskhelia.”

Goalkeeper switch

Bournemouth are thought to be working on a surprise deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Athletic’s David Ornstein claims Bournemouth and Chelsea are ‘in talks’ for the 29-year-old, who has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and does not look set to feature under new head coach Enzo Maresca.

Talks are thought to be centred around a season-long loan, but Kepa would first need to sign a contract extension at Chelsea as his current deal expires next summer. Andoni Iraola’s side are also thought to be keen on Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, while other clubs are also keeping an eye on the situation with interest in the Chelsea shot-stopper.
