Leicester City manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy is reportedly considering a move to secure the services of a Manchester United youngster during the January transfer window.
The Sun have reported the Dutch boss will make an immediate raid on his former club by launching a loan bid for Red Devils academy graduate Toby Collyer. The report states Van Nistelrooy is ‘planning to use his contracts’ at Old Trafford to bring a deal to fruition and views the 20-year-old midfielder as a ‘key asset’ in his side’s bid to avoid relegation into the Championship.

Hide AdCollyer made his senior debut for the Red Devils in their Community Shield clash with cross-city rivals Manchester City in August and has also featured in a Carabao Cup tie against Barnsley and a Premier League defeat at Liverpool in September. However, he could get a chance to earn significant experience during a loan spell at Leicester if Van Nistelrooy presses on with his bid to sign the youngster.
The 3AM Verdict: “There is no surprise to see Van Nistelrooy considering a move to take a player from his former club. He will have worked closely with Collyer during his time as assistant manager and interim manager and clearly the youngster made an impression if these reports are true.”
Premier League duo told to move for England defender
Aston Villa and West Ham United have been told they can make a move for AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori.
CalcioMercato have claimed Tomori has been told he ‘can say goodbye’ to the Serie A giants and will be allowed to return to the Premier League in January. Significantly the report also suggests Milan have already identified three possible replacements for the former Chelsea defender after watching Valencia’s Yerson Mosquera, Lille’s Bafodé Diakité and Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande in recent weeks and months.

Although there is a suggestion the asking price over a possible deal will be set at around £34m, there have also been recent reports stating Milan would accept a lower offer. Villa are not the only Premier League club said to be interested in Tomori after the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham United were also said to be keen on the centre-back.
The 3AM Verdict: Tomori has enjoyed some success during his time at the San Siro - but has been unable to force his way into the England setup. A move back to the Premier League could well allow him to do exactly that under new head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Champions League finalist ‘turns down’ West Ham approach
The future of West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui has been the subject of intense speculation this week.
The Hammers currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table after suffering a home defeat against Arsenal and a loss at struggling Leicester City earlier this week. That has increased speculation Lopetegui, who only replaced David Moyes during the summer, could be replaced over the coming days and some reports have suggested a negative result in Monday night’s home clash with out-of-form Wolves could well seal his fate.

Hide AdGerman outlet Bild have claimed the Hammers hierarchy have made an approach to former Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic - but have been rebuffed after the man that led the Bundesliga club to last season’s Champions League Final judged the offer to be ‘not to his liking’.
The 3AM Verdict: It is beginning to feel inevitable Lopetegui will leave West Ham over the coming weeks and speculation over such ‘approaches’ to potential replacements will only increase talk over his future at the London Stadium.
