We begin Wednesday’s Premier League transfer rumour round-up with news of Manchester United’s ongoing pursuit of French sensation Leny Yoro. The Red Devils have been linked with the Lille defender for some time now, but face strong competition from Real Madrid, who are understood to be the teenager’s preferred destination.
Nevertheless, according to journalist Nabil Djellit, United have made a written, formal offer for Yoro, worth around £42.2 million plus bonuses, which has been accepted by Lille. It is claimed that the bid is ‘superior’ to Madrid’s proposal for the player. Attention will now turn to convincing the 18-year-old to choose Manchester over the Spanish capital.

Yoro is one of the most highly-rated young defenders in world football, and whoever is fortunate enough to win the race for his signature will be securing themselves a massive talent for years to come. Convincing him to choose Old Trafford over Real Madrid will be no small task, but if it can be done, the Red Devils should go all out to make it happen.
Spurs close in on new signing
Elsewhere, Tottenham are reportedly set to complete a deal for Fenerbahce midfielder Sebastian Szymanski, and are in the process of finalising the last few details of the move. As per Turkish outlet Aksam, Spurs are edging every close to an agreement that would take the 25-year-old Poland international to north London this summer.
It is suggested that Ange Postecoglou’s side have tabled an initial bid of around £21.1 million plus bonuses for the midfielder, a figure which the Turkish side view positively, although there is no confirmation that it has been accepted at this stage. That being said, Szymanski is expected to sign ‘in a short time’.
The 3AM Verdict: This would be a decent piece of business for Spurs. Szymanski is a fine attacking talent capable of playing through the middle or out on the wing, and at a little over £20 million, he could prove to be a very cost effective signing. With 32 goal involvements in 55 outings for Fenerbahce, if he can harness that kind of form in the Premier League, he will be a hit.

And finally, Everton look to be closing in on a deal to sign promising winger Jaden Philogene from Hull City, despite interest from the likes of Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old had seemingly been nearing a move to Portman Road, with talks between the Tigers and the Tractor Boys underway, but BBC Sport now suggest that a £16 million agreement has been reached to take him to Merseyside instead.
It is understood that the player himself would also be keen on a switch to Goodison Park, where he would become would become Everton's fourth signing of the summer after Tim Iroegbunam, Jack Harrison, and Iliman Ndiaye.
The 3AM Verdict: Philogene is a massive talent, and one who absolutely deserves a shot at Premier League football. For £16 million or so, if he makes good on his obvious potential then he could become one of the bargains of the window.
