Man Utd set to cash in on £50m star while Arsenal get signing ‘on a silver platter’

Welcome to Tuesday’s digest of the biggest and boldest Premier League transfer rumours which have been doing the rounds in the media over the past day or so – and we start, as we so often do, at Old Trafford, where Manchester United are apparently attempting to distract themselves from the leaky roof by finding a buyer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The former Crystal Palace man cost a cool £50m when he first arrived but with just one year left on his contract, it looks like he’s one of the many players who the club will listen to offers for – at least according to Caught Offside, who claim there is “no shortage of interest in the player.”

The 3AM Verdict: Wan-Bissaka hasn’t shown his best form for a while now, so it makes sense to move him on – it would be interesting to see who the interested parties are, and how much money they’d be willing to offer, although it’s a safe bet that United will lose plenty in any deal. There’s a lack of detail in this report which is a little frustrating, but it provides yet more evidence that United are genuinely keen on Dumfries. He and Dalot seem likely to be the right-backs on the books next season.
Arsenal learn price for emerging star
A little bit of news for Arsenal fans now – Sport Witness have picked up on a report from Portugal which seems to suggest that a move for Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande may well become a reality. The young Ivorian defender, widely regarded as being one of Europe’s most talented centre-halves, has been linked with a big move all summer and it seems that Sporting are beginning to soften their stance on selling him.
Most earlier reports suggested that they would only sell him if his €80m (£68.8m) release clause was matched – but now, apparently, they’ve decided to sell him in order to balance the books, and he would be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of €50-60m, which Sport Witness describe as him being handed to the Gunners “on a silver platter.”

In truth, €80m always seemed a little ambitious on Sporting’s part, and this is a more realistic price point, and a likely necessity if they are to keep hold of striker Viktor Gyökeres, which they’re desperately trying to do. Now that’s less good news for Arsenal.
Villa starlet set for Bundesliga spell
Finally, a quick word from Birmingham, where Aston Villa’s 18-year-old winger Kadan Young, who has drawn rave reviews for his performances in reserve matches and friendlies, could be set to head over to Germany this summer with Werder Bremen interested in securing his services.
Villa fans need not worry too much, because Football Insider reckon that this will just be a loan deal, with the England Under-17 international being sent off to get some experience rather than being sold for a quick buck – apparently this is a “stepping stone” towards a future as a first-teamer under Unai Emery.
The 3AM Verdict: Young has been named in a few of Emery’s matchday squads without making it onto the pitch, so this seems like a fine way to learn – albeit quite a big step up, as the Bundesliga has proven beyond doubt that it’s no joke this season. And Villa do need a right winger this summer, so it’s interesting that they’re prepared to let Young go without giving him a chance to fill that slot himself – but all the reports we’ve heard about his progress sound very positive indeed.
