Tottenham Hotspur will hope to build further momentum in their top four push after back-to-back league victories over Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

The Lillywhites have adapted well to the loss of their top goalscorer Harry Kane in the first half of the season - with the likes Heung Min-Son, Dejan Kulusevski and a revitalised Richarlison all providing a goalscoring outlet for Ange Postecoglou’s team. The North London giants play host to an in-form Everton team at the weekend. The Toffees are aiming to bounce back from their Carabao Cup exit to Fulham and hope to add to their tremendous four game winning streak in the league.

The Toffees have performed admirably under Sean Dyche this season and already find themselves seven points clear of the drop zone - in spite of a 10 point deduction. Postecoglou faces a number of major calls on his team selection ahead of the match against Everton as he contends with the suspension of Yves Bissouma and Destiny Udogie, along with injuries to a host of notable names.

With that in mind we have taken a look at Tottenham’s most likely starting lineup ahead of their game against the Toffees.

Tottenham Hotspur team news

Tottenham Hotspur were hit with a series of injury blows in a devastating 4-1 home loss against London rivals Chelsea which sparked a five match winless streak. The loss in November saw the team lose the likes of James Maddison and Micky Van de Ven to injury as the then league leaders dropped out of the top four.

Maddison and Van de Ven are two of the team’s top performing players this year and both are contenders for the signing of the season. The pair will miss this match with injury and will not make a comeback until at least the middle of January. The pair add to long term absentees Ivan Perisic (ACL), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Rodrigo Bentancur (ankle) and Manor Salomon (knee) - while, more recent additions to the treatment table include Brennan Johnson and Giovani Lo Celso.

Johnson was injured during the game against Nottingham Forest, but is not thought to be a serious concern. He is expected to be back in the squad in time for the Everton game, but the same can not be said for Lo Celso who is likely to miss at least a further week with a training ground knock.

Tottenham’s suspension list includes in-form left back Destiny Udogie and midfield stalwart Yves Bissouma. Udogie misses one game due to his milestone yellow card, while Bissouma misses four games with a red card. Fans are unlikely to see Bissouma for the foreseeable future as he is expected to represent Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations next month.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur line-up

Vicario, Porro, Romero, Davies, Royal, Hojberg, Sarr, Johnson, Kulusevski, Son, Richarlison
