Tottenham predicted line-up vs Everton: two key changes made as £30m man gets first minutes

The latest team news, injury updates and predicted XI as Tottenham take on Everton in the Premier League

Tottenham could only manage a draw against newly promoted Leicester in the opening game of their season, which has now put pressure on their upcoming home game against an Everton side that looked desperately poor when they hosted Brighton. Their agony has been compounded by the fact that experienced left-back Ashley Young has been sent off and won't be available for this one. Spurs also have some interesting decisions to make in defence.

We have put this package together ahead of the game, and if you’re looking for information ahead of the Fantasy Premier League deadline, you can also check out our resident expert’s regular advice column by clicking here.

Defence

Tottenham have a straightforward defence with Destiny Udogie as the club’s designated left-back and Pedro Porro, who scored at the King Power, set to start at right-back. Central defence is locked in with the ever-present Cristian Romero and Mickey Van de Ven. Tottenham have largely retained the same defence from last season, with Archie Gray arriving from Leicester as a squad option. The hope is that after one season under Ange Postecoglou, the defence will improve.

Midfield

Midfield is where the big changes might occur. Rodrigo Bentancur is injured, and although the Spurs manager appeared hopeful after the game, he is likely to miss this one. The suspended Yves Bissouma is now expected to return straight into the lineup. Bissouma has struggled to find consistency since his £30 million move from Brighton two seasons ago, with his manager admitting there needs to be a discussion about finding trust between them after recent issues. James Maddison looked bright in spots but is still expected to start the game, with the hope that he can rediscover the form that made him such a brilliant signing at the start of last season.

Attack

Dominic Solanke had a strange game in what was his debut for the club—he started brightly but faded without getting his goal. He’ll be looking to get off the mark straight away at home. Solanke is likely to be flanked by club captain Son Heung-min, with Timo Werner coming in for Brennan Johnson, who was ineffective against Leicester the other night.

Vicario, Udogie, Porro, Van de Ven, Romero, Bissouma, Pape Sarr, Maddison, Solanke, and Werner.
