Wolves will be hoping to pile further misery on struggling Sheffield United this weekend when the two sides meet at Bramall Lane. The Blades are still yet to win a game in the Premier League this season, and are rooted to the foot of the table with a solitary point from their opening 10 matches.

For their part, however, Wanderers have looked increasingly bright under Gary O’Neil, and are unbeaten in their last five top flight outings. Last weekend they twice came from behind against an in-form Newcastle United to claim a 2-2 draw at Molineux, and currently sit 12th, one point off the top 10.

But how will both sides look to line up on Saturday afternoon? We’ve taken a look at the latest team news to come up with a pair of predicted starting XIs...

Wolves Team News

The biggest injury blow for Wolves comes in the shape of Pedro Neto, who was stretchered off in evident discomfort during the closing stages of last weekend’s draw with Newcastle. The 23-year-old is understood to have damaged his hamstring, but there remains some optimism that he could return to action before the end of the year. Posting to social media after the match, Neto himself suggested that he would be absent for a ‘couple of weeks’, but subsequent reports claim that he could be sidelined for closer to a month-and-a-half.

Addressing the winger’s complaint, O’Neil said: “We are hopeful that Pedro won’t be missing for long. He’s been a big part of what we’ve managed to do so far, but for however long he’s out for, the group is ready to make sure we keep producing performances and we keep picking up points. He was moving around in the dressing room. Obviously hamstring injuries have very different levels of severity, so we’re hoping it’s on the smaller side.”

Elsewhere, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde could be back in contention after a mild calf strain kept him out of last Saturday’s clash, but less is known about Hugo Bueno, who was also absent against the Magpies. Young midfielder Joe Hodge is expected to be out for anywhere up to three months after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Sheffield United Team News

Sheffield United are still very much in the midst of something of an injury crisis, and have been scrambling for first team options of late, especially at the back. Key defenders Chris Basham, John Egan, and Anel Ahmedhodzic have all been absent recently, as have George Baldock and Max Lowe.

Heading into this weekend, the Blades face a nervy wait to see if Oli McBurnie will be fit after he was withdrawn against Manchester United last Monday, while Tom Davies and Daniel Jebbison, amongst other, could miss out.

Sheffield United Predicted XI

Wes Foderingham; Jayden Bogle, Auston Trusty, Jack Robinson, Luke Thomas; James McAtee, Oliver Norwood, Vinicius Souza, Gustavo Hamer; Cameron Archer, Benie Traore.
