The latest Premier League transfer rumours, featuring news from Leicester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool

Welcome to today’s run-through of the latest new Premier League transfer rumours. Clubs have the chance to bolster their ranks between now and the end of the January window.

Firstly, Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy is reportedly ready to raid his former club Manchester United this winter. According to The Sun, he is ‘interested’ in landing Victor Lindelof and Toby Collyer from Old Trafford before the deadline.

The Foxes were promoted from the Championship last season under former manager Enzo Maresca before he left for Chelsea. They are currently fighting for survival in the top flight and could do with some additions over the coming weeks.

Leicester could see Lindelof as someone to boost their defensive ranks. He is out of contract in June and is due to become a free agent as things stand.

As for Collyer, he would inject more energy into Van Nistelrooy’s midfield and would give him another option to pick from in the middle of the park. The 21-year-old has made three appearances this term for the Red Devils.

The 3am Verdict: Victor Lindelof would be a shrewd signing for Leicester City and would strengthen their options in defence. It is unlikely that he will be handed a contract extension by Manchester United. As for Collyer, he needs to get some game time under his belt to boost his development and a switch to the Foxes would be good for him. It remains to be seen whether he would start for them though.

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran wanted

Football Insider claim Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is wanted by PSG. The 21-year-old is being tipped for a bright future in the game and is said to have emerged on the radar of the Ligue 1 giants.

Duran, who is a Colombia international with 15 caps under his belt, has scored 12 goals in 26 matches for Unai Emery’s men so far in this campaign, seven of which have come in the league.

Aston Villa signed him back in 2022 and he hasn’t looked back since. He helped them get into the Champions League and has proved to be a useful option to bring off the bench in games.

The 3am Verdict: Aston Villa won’t want to lose Jhon Duran mid-way through a season. He has proved he can score goals in the Premier League and is a player who can get fans off their seats. PSG would obviously be able to pay big money though and it will be interesting to see if he would be tempted by a transfer to the French capital.

Napoli want to lure Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa back to Italy, Foot Mercato report. It hasn’t worked out for him in England so far and he could return home soon.

The Reds signed him to give them another option going forward. However, the Italy international hasn’t been able to nail down a regular place in Arne Slot’s starting XI and has struggled for game time.

The 3am Verdict: Cutting ties with Federico Chiesa would help free up space and funds in Liverpool’s squad. His move to Merseyside hasn’t gone to plan and a switch to Napoli would probably suit all parties involved. It is a shame it hasn’t worked for him at Anfield but the Reds’ options in his position are just too strong as they chase down the title.
