Hot on the heels of a series of midweek fixtures, the Fantasy Premier League returns to its regular weekend schedule from Saturday – and as always, we’re here to keep you up-to-date with all the latest injury news ahead of the 11:00 GMT deadline.

Cole Palmer is the biggest name at risk of missing minutes this week, along with fellow Chelsea stars Levi Colwill and Enzo Fernández, Liverpool wingers Luis Díaz & Diogo Jota, and a few others. We have, of course, got all the latest information on all of the newly-stricken players below.

And if you’re looking for some more general hints ahead of the Gameweek 22 deadline, you should be sure to check out our resident expert’s regular advice column by clicking here - this week, he debates a big captaincy choice and offers up some thoughts on preparing for Liverpool’s big double gameweek. It’s worth noting that it was written before anyone knew that Palmer was injured, but then the England midfielder wasn’t our man’s pick anyway...

Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill & Enzo Fernández

Here’s one that will send shivers down plenty of players’ spines to start. Cole Palmer is “a doubt” for Cheslea’s Monday night match, according to Enzo Maresca, who added that the attacking midfielder didn’t train on Friday. According to the Italian head coach, it was midweek opponent Bournemouth who should take the blame, as “they kicked him.”

Also missing training were Levi Colwill and Enzo Fernández, who are in more than enough teams to warrant mentioning. We don’t have much detail on what the injuries in question might be, unfortunately, so we’re afraid it’s pure guesswork as to whether any of the stricken players will be involved. Clearly, if there is any chance that Palmer can play, they’ll strap him up and send him out there.

Matheus Cunha

A late entry into the doubts column, Wolves striker Cunha is among the most popular forwards in the game despite a recent two-match ban for taking his frustrations on a member of another team’s security staff. He may be out again, too, as he missed training on Friday as “he got the flu”. Manager Vitor Pereira added that he “hopes” Cunha will be on the pitch this weekend, but if he has anything approaching the actual flu, then that doesn’t sound likely. Let’s see what some Lemsips can do by the morning.

Luis Díaz & Diogo Jota

Nearly 20% of FPL players have Colombian winger Díaz in their squads right now, so they may be concerned to see a yellow triangle pop up next to his name in the app – he missed training on Thursday thanks to “a sore throat”, but Arne Slot said that he will “assume” that he will be OK to play against Brentford on Saturday afternoon. This looks likely to be a false alarm.

Also absent was Diogo Jota, who is back playing after injury and may be on many players’ radars ahead of Liverpool’s double gameweek in GW24. The news is less positive there, with Slot “not sure he will be available” thanks to a “little niggle” that he picked up during the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest. He is a doubt and highly unlikely to start, if he plays at all.

Fabian Schär & Nick Pope

Schär is another victim of illness and missed Newcastle’s midweek win as a result of whatever bug he picked up. Howe told the media during his pre-match press conference that he trained on Thursday but “wasn’t 100%” thanks to a “nasty cough”. A decision will be made on Friday ahead of the early kick-off against Bournemouth.

Pope’s potential return may be of interest to the players buying into Martin Dúbravka, whose price has risen despite reports that he could leave the club this month. Pope is back in light training, but it looks like Saturday will come too soon, so owners of the Slovakian stopper can probably breathe easy for one more week, at least.

Brennan Johnson

The Welsh winger isn’t as popular an inclusion as he once was, but for those who have held on to him as a budget option or were considering bringing back in, Ange Postecoglou offers some pause for thought. Apparently, Johnson has “a bit of a calf complaint” and the club are “waiting” on a decision on his availability.

Tyler Dibling

The budget-friendly Southampton ‘midfielder’ – the game’s words, not ours – picked up an ankle injury in the 3-1 loss to Manchester United and we don’t yet know how serious it is. Not too many players have him, but if you were debating signing him as an enabler, you may wish to look elsewhere for now. Results of a medical assessment are expected on Friday.
