The latest FPL injury news for Gameweek 27 including updates on Erling Haaland, Morgan Rogers and more.

The Fantasy Premier League is back for Gameweek 27 and ahead of the latest round of midweek fixtures, we’re here with all of the latest injury news ahead of Tuesday’s 18:00 GMT deadline.

Erling Haaland and Morgan Rogers are among the widely-owned FPL assets in danger of missing minutes this week, and we’ve got the latest updates on both of them along with all the news you’ll need to make the right transfer choices this week.

Just in case you also need some broader advice before the deadline, don’t forget to check out our resident expert’s latest advice column as well – this time around, he explains how to prepare for the upcoming blank and double gameweeks and picks out some differential options for the coming weeks.

Erling Haaland

A minor knee injury kept the Norwegian striker off the pitch for both of Manchester City’s ultimately unsuccessful matches against Real Madrid and Liverpool, a pair of defeats which only served to underline how far the club have fallen off over the course of the campaign – but Haaland is still one of the league’s best goalscorers and could be back for Wednesday’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Not that Pep Guardiola was giving much away in his pre-match press conference. He simply said that he would “know after training” on Tuesday and that “I hope” he will be available – but he did add that Haaland “feels better”, hinting that he is likely to play at least some part.

Morgan Rogers

One of the most popular budget-friendly enablers in the game, Rogers has been a revelation since arriving at Villa Park last winter – but he has a yellow triangle hovering next to his name ahead of his side’s trip to Crystal Palace this week.

Unai Emery told reporters that Rogers would train on Tuesday but that he didn’t “know exactly” whether he would be able to play following a knock sustained in the second half of the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday. It sounds probable that he will play at least some part, although whether he gets a full 90 minutes is unclear. Given Villa’s away form, he may be a bench candidate, or even a player to sell.

Dominic Solanke & Micky van de Ven

Spurs have several players who are popular FPL assets when fit - and while Ange Postecoglou’s update on their conditions was positive, the likes of Dominic Solanke and Micky van de Ven still won’t be ready to play Manchester City this week, in case you were thinking of taking a punt on them. Those two, along with Richarlison and Cristian Romero, are “tracking really well” and could be ready for the next batch of Premier League fixtures, however, with returns inked in for seven to ten day’s time.

Emile Smith Rowe

Another cheap midfield option who’s helping a lot of teams keep their value under the £100m mark, Marco Silva has said that it is “difficult to say” whether Smith Rowe will be available to play against Wolves. He picked up an ankle injury in the recent defeat to Crystal Palace, but like Rogers he was expected to train on Tuesday, with an assessment to take place afterwards.

Danny Welbeck

Welbeck’s early-season form made him a popular cheap choice up front and while we suspect that a lot of the teams who still have him are ‘dead’ teams at this stage, the former Arsenal and Manchester United striker has more than enough owners for it to be worth noting that he’s “doubtful” for Brighton’s midweek match, according to manager Fabian Hürzeler. As with Rogers and Smith Rowe, he is expected to train but is unlikely to start even if passed fit.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis

Yet another budget enabler who’s in plenty of teams, the Southampton centre-half has been out of action for the last couple of games thanks to an ankle injury. Saints head coach Ivan Jurić told reporters that he should be in the match day squad to face Chelsea, but is likely to be on the bench – just in case you were thinking of starting him, for some reason. Chelsea’s form has been scratchy of late, but this is still Southampton we’re talking about.

Ethan Nwaneri

An increasingly popular budget midfielder with Arsenal’s injury problems, there had been some concern over the teenager’s fitness when he limped off awkwardly towards the end of the 1-0 defeat to West Ham over the weekend – but Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Nwaneri was “just cramping” and he looks good to play in Gameweek 27.
